c Crunchy

Released on Friday 22/02/13

An urban legend says that cats have nine lives. For Crunchy, that also means nine dumb ways to die: slowly eviscerated, decapitated by a bear, poisoned three times by Azel, quartered, hammered, having his throat cut by a chicken, and last but not least run over by Jean’s truck. All in all, the little cat wasn’t destined to last long in the urban jungle that is Clint City…

First development of the 2 of this character’s different developments:

The people bad mouthing Crunchy here have obviously never defeated an opponent with the likes of Gina Glitt or Lothar. Crunchy is just amazing, even if you have to invest a whole entire pill (game breaking, I'm sure) for the chance to win. Shutting off bonuses with a powerhouse ability like -12 attack is simply amazing, and with 5 damage to boot, your opponent HAS to react or take 5 to the face.

remember Arkn? I do, it's very amazing for a 2 star.
People you are making invalid arguments.
Please, before you rate something bad why not play them good yourself?

@Laxus_30 , the chicken could belong to the GHEIST, depending on how evil it is.... ;-)

Let's try to show the potential Crunchy really has.

Crunchy is a BOSS in low-pilled fights, similar to Arkn, a staple card from GHEIST. It has the Montana-ability, and as we all know, the Montana Family is a force to be reckoned with, with their unparalleled attack manipulation. It also has that nifty SOB which rids of pesky bonuses that make Crunchy's losses or wins more painful.

Stat-wise, Crunchy's damage shine immensely, compared to many 2* in-game. From an average of 2-3 damage, Crunchy has 5, which is a chunk of life lost coming from a 2*. And, quite irrelevant for me to say this, Crunchy fits well in decks with his low star count since he's a 2*, and will usually win in tied atacks.

Looking back to its ability, its minimum is rather high, considering the fact that this card was meant for low pill battles. A high minimum of 8, and a really low power of 4, really makes Crunchy look bad. Still, you only need one pill to make use of its potential, so that's not too shabby. But you can't depend on him in winning when we're talking about high-pill battles.

Another problem he has to face is competition. SO MANY COMPETITION. Artus, Eadh, Hel, Mawpin, Phyllis, Sheitane, heck even Bill in some decks! Each one with great stats and abilities that look amazing in a life manipulating clan. And Crunchy isn't an exception; he also has tricks, but arguably not as good as these guys. It's like role-playing; everyone has their different lines and attitudes.

Like I said, every Nightmare 2* has its purpose. Artus is a DR in a Life Manip clan, Sheitane is capable of widening the life gap, and Phyllis has that sweet cake with a Cherry on top; 4 damage, immune to DR (the cake is a lie though. ;-) ). Crunchy's role is mastery in Low Pill battles, forcing your opponent to pill, with an actual high threat from a 2*. He does this greatly, and should be considered as another of your 2* in your deck, unless you already have your play style.

All in all, a nice card when handled properly. Just REALLY overshadowed by the others.

One of the most underrated cards. I bought this card when I started the game. Only realized its true potential when I faced Hendz and Randy in one hand in Elo Mode. I literally laughed out loud at the opponents luck xD Amazing card if played right. And most often forces your opponent to shell some pills out :D
