In amongst the strange sights you see in the Ulu Watu cove (apart from vacationing Aquanis and Atuas), the area's new attraction is undoubtedly Mango, a chimp brought back from Los Santos by a slightly adrift Buck. Buck had got it into his head that he could teach the chimp how to surf, an idea that certainly brought a smile to more than one face. But who would have thought he’d actually do it and that you can now see the new Ulu Watu mascot riding the waves while juggling fruit!

Global warming has a devastating effect on the best spots: snow has become a rare commodity and waves are so violent they can't be surfed... And so the fight begins to urge the government to take into account environmental considerations or, at the very least, to build more skate-parks...

Sorry Sandy, you're no longer the Ulu mascot.

I think Mango is a little better than people might think. The ability is basically a Hurucan bonus so, in ELO anyway, that's a whopping 14. And one also has to consider the fact that Ulu Watu are known for their strong +Life cards like Dave, Chel, and Numar. ALSO, since Ulu are the kings of 10+ pills, you can expect most people using attack manipulation decks to stick to the 3-4-5 pill rounds in order to keep their bonus relevant. So if you time it properly you can take full advantage of Mango's ability and... do 4 damage, which is only a slight but much needed increase in Ulu Watu 2* damage output.

Mango (juicy)

Power: 5
Damage: 4
Ability: -1 opponent attack min. 8
Bonus: +2 power
Stars: 2

Well, a good one finally! As I always say, a 2 star 5/4 should always be seen with a certain regard. because most of the times it will be a notable card (you know, 4 damage is not negligible).
Being a Ulu the bonus changes this 5 powered cinderella in a solid 7/4 princess and the ability shines with a -14/-12 attack min 8, way better than montanas are.
Mango is a 2 star that can bring the Ulu on a new level, or at least, that allow them to try new strategies in TQ. Up till now we have been struck with every possible +X life, but 4 heavy damages on a 2 star (that in the opening round is a solid 3 star) let us think that KO is within the graps of our hands.
During a TQ a mono Ulu or a biclan would be able to reach our impossible dream of 12 damage with only 4 rounds: sounds like magic.
More interesting, Mango makes the perfect couple with Heal powers and +X life! They are so good together that we can think about a Huracan like style: first goes the +X life and then Mango approaches, with a realistic -16 attack in ELO. Wanna waste 3 pills bro?
If we are really looking for a flaw here, there is only one: a high minimum. We will always need a couple of free pills for Mango, because his -X attack leaves the opponent with 8 and we start with 5 or 7: to fight Uppers we have to reach 21 (so 11) to be a threat, and this goes almost for every -X attack of the game.
Then, talking about SoA and SoB, versus SoA a 7/4 worth 2 stars is fine, like it; versus SoB a 5/4 -X attack works for Nightmares (not for Piranas, but we can't have it all).

Eventually a good Ulu card: APPROVED!

This art is adorable.

But let's focus on the stats for a bit. 5/4 with -1 Opp. Att. Per Life Left, Min. 8.

Those are actually very solid! 7/4 with bonus active, and while you have a better Montana bonus at the first round in ELO, that potential dwindles as you lose life, but he's still a 7/4 with 2*. This is a great card in Ulu Watu, as we all know Power + Atk. Manipulation is a very good combination. Just make sure to pill once if you're not doing a hard bluff, so they have to pill to beat you a good bit of the time.

Ulu Watu weren't exactly lacking in 2* (Fanny, Dave, Gabrielle) but now Mango comes in to give them a run for their money. Use him in ELO, if you've used Kamekun he shouldn't be all that different to use.

My review on the recent New Blood releases:

Mango @2* 5/4
-1 Opp. Att. Per Life Left, Min 8

- Best damage (on par with orlando)
- Montana like ability. In Elo: -14 atk at the start

- Not very flexible (must use early on)
- Low power (although with ulu watu)
