c Kirk

Released on Friday 29/08/08

As an obese teenager, Kirk was too big for just one surf board, so he taught himself how to surf on two boards and in doing so developed a technique all of his own. Years later and back to a normal weight, he still surfs the waves on two boards…

quite honestly rating Ulu Watu 3* goes like this:
Nanook: 9.75/10
Gaia: 9
Kirk is good but the main problem i see is his high minimum and his 3 damage.
His high minimum really diminishes his abillity most hands have at least 1 low damage card example robb which the can get through and only lose 1 damage (ie spend 1-2 pills get 3 damage)
Now this would be acceptable if he had 4 damage and he would probably one up Gaia if that was the case. but quite frankly 3 damage is next to useless cards most commonly have either 2, 4, or 6 damage meaning 4 damage card +fury +6damage card =2 hit ko...however 3 damage +fury +6 damage= 11 damage (no 2hko) now some may be saying just put in a 7 damage card well in my experience most 7 damage cards are either very weak against SOA (Sleam, Buck, etc), 5 stars (hikyousan,Dorian, etc) or low on power (Ryuichi, Sai San,etc.) making them less tempting then their 6 damage counterparts. This makes Kirks 3 damage a MAJOR flaw... and making far inferior to Nanook, and Gaia

*Underwater Kingdom*

Kirk..Kirk, Kirk, Kirk. Now this certain man is quite the surfer. He is greatly known to surf with 2 boards instead of just one. This is the first time I have ever seen surfboarding with such amazing skills, even with just one. However, when I first met him, all he was doing was rolling on a beach ball. I thought he was going to be in the Freaks. Then I eventually saw him ride the waves, almost better than Buck. Everyday, he would surf for more than 10 hours, honing his skills and specialty. It's quite amazing how he was also able to lose all those pounds.;-)

Apparently, he is very friendly with everyone. He joined the Ulu Wata because he was so amazed at how many people were also surfers, swimmers, and ninja surfers(Oraya):-d. He wanted to go to Easter Island... That's where the legendary Poseidon died. I think thats why people consider Tanaereva as the reincarnation of Poseidon. Even my mother thinks like this. Anyways, I hope Kirk is able to complete his journey to Easter Island. That's all for today.

Kirk: 7/3; -3 opp damage, min 3 At level 3

-A great 3* card for Ulu Watu, and a replacement of Gaia in a defensive orientated Ulu Watu deck
-A virtual 9/3 (9/5 with fury) card that can reduce his opponent's damage by 3 till a minimum of 3
-He won't be able to replace Nanook and will compete (as stated above) with Gaia for the 2nd 3* spot
-However, Gabrielle/Gaia/Nanook/Kirk can be a very powerful 11* half-deck

@Ianism- Nanook has 4 damage...

Kirk is one of the best 3 star cards for Ulu Watu. He even earns a spot behind Nanook when you use him for your main damage reducer in ELO. When Ulu is an attack based deck/half deck, he'll be dropped for Gaia, Lin Bee, or even George.

With Gabrielle being the only other playable damage reducer ELO card in Ulu, Kirk is only replaceable when she is in the deck. He's good for beginners and great for ELO play. If you have Ulu as a half deck, he'll drop off your radar most of the time though for Nanook.

All my hate, goes to this card right now.

With competition like Nanook and Gaia out there, not to mention great 2 stars like Taigo and Gabrielle (economize and save 1 star!) its hard to find a good reason to put Kirk in. Damage reducing is a good ability, I admit, but he as such a high minimum. 3 damage also means that he cannot 2HKo with Stanley anymore, unless you add fury. And really, who does that? (With a clan like Ulu Watu, you never want to waste 3 pillz for that unless its an ABSOLUTE necessity) Add the fact the SOA and SOB are as common as dirt in ELO, and I'm afraid Kirk will not be making a return in my deck anytime soon. (Yes, I do try out cards before reviewing)

Final Rating: 7/10 Sorry, Kirk. You don't make the cut.

He is way too fat on his first level, but he kicks butt overall. I mean, others can do a better job, but he detracts from the purpose of many cards.
