After scouring the oceans of the globe for many a long year, Captain Bloodh's Piranas have finally cast anchor in town – time to stretch their legs out a bit and let their hair down! Noisy, aggressive and thieving (well, they are pirates after all), they’ve been quick to make enemies, and the odd friend. But all in all, they’re having such a good time, they’re in no hurry to head back to sea.

Raeth - 7/5 with -8 opp attack, min 7 (ability) and SoB (bonus)

- Decent 7 power. An average Pirana power, I'd say.
- 5 damage (7 with fury) isn't too bad. Not the highest even, but cant complain
- Raeth has a very Sakorhmy-like ability, reducing your opponent's attack by a whooping 8 points. While his minimum is a little bit on the higher side, one pill solves that problem.
- And Raeth is a Piranas, so he has that great SoB too. Bonuses that would bring him lower than his minimum (Uppers, Sakrohm) aren't a problem.
- Yes, he is the Pied Piper.

- His minimum is kinda high, as I said. Normally not a problem, but if you for some reason don't have a pill to spare for Raeth, then he may be in trouble, as his default ties with tht. He usually loses in ties. Usually, but not always
- He is 4*, which is kinda chunky.
- Attack manipulation abilities with lower mins can be trouble for Raeth at lower-pill battles.

Overall: 8.5/10. I didn't like Raeth at first. But that more I thought about it, the more I realized. He is basically Petra with a higher min. Petra, a very, very solid 4* in Sakrohm. A Petra in any clan is troublesome, and Piranas can abuse attack manipulation pretty well with all the pill manipulation they have. Raeth is a really good card, and I highly recommend smiley

~Captain Bloodh's Tavernous tails~

A lot of people think that the most dangerous weapon on my ship would be Mayhem's cannon or Sting's rifle. Those both are very useful people with large amounts of skill-well as much skill as it takes to aim at the people on the other ship. However as useful as they seem they are nothing as useful as Raeth.

Raeth is a quite man that works mostly for food, rum and the ability to see the world. However, he is possibly the most skilled and dangerous man on the ship and he can kill more then Mayhem and Smokey combined. Let me cover something before I tell you about him talent, every single ship on the high sea has rats. It's simply a fact of life.

Raeth harnesses this with a tune that he plays on his flute. I'm not sure what it is but his Melody trances the rats and sends them into a violent rage against the people of the ship. Something about the tune always haunts me for weeks after it's played so for lesser fights we keep him in reserve.

Raeth - Pied Piper
4*

Pros: there are plenty really:
- Attack manipulation, the fact that he have 8 and not 7 attack manip will ensure you of something, he will almost always win against a 7 powered card in an almost equal pill fight( where you use 1 less pill than the opp) regardless of the star count( will only lose in an 1 less pill fight if the opp is also an att manip or have power manip ability), in other words, he can draw 2 pills off of the opp.
- Power, 7 is a very cool number in UR, common, and thus the opp can't fight against him fairly
- Damage, 5 is an average, but with dalhia banned atm, selma's 7 damage is very very cool, also a furied Ko with the oh-so popular Scubb and Kristin the all stop.

Cons: well, here are some:
- He's a 4*, usually not a problem, but fitting 2 4* and a 5* in a deck is kinda hard to do with all these bans.
- High min, trouble with attack manip cards with a lower min or if you have no pill to spare, not a big flaw, can be overlooked

Overall: Quite a bad first impression on him, but then as i went around the forums trolling, i realized he's a much more reliable card than Kristin as he actually HAVE an advantage and not just a card to block your opponent, i see a bright future for him in both mono and halves. right now my scale stands at 9/10.
Suggested order of choosing in mono: Scubb, Raeth, Kristin, Sting, (Katan)
Suggested order of choosing in halves: Raeth, Kristin, Sting, (Katan)

Although hard to believe, Raeth’s sinister melodies are often far more effective than either Smokey's canon or Sting's rifle. With his music he's able to communicate with rats hiding in the holds of enemy vessels and then turn them on the boat's occupants.

* Smokey's canon

Come on UR!
Make Raeth Quirky's first Cr! I want to get the recognition this red head piper deserves smiley!
And then hand out a free copy to every UR player smiley (what? I had to ask that!)
Raeth, I might be using you a bit more this week. You're not replacing Sting, but maybe Coleridge or Kristin? (I only have Kristin for Bonnie Ld missions. I wouldn't exactly want to buy her when she costs 1k, y'know?)
Overall, great little card! (err... wouldn't that be big? Because 5 stars is huge, and 3 stars is average?)

Tuesday 05/07/2011, 11:09

Something really stupid: I've noticed a lot of you are annoyed that Raeth has 5 damage.
So I say, WHAT THE HECK?
5 damage KO's with Sliman.
He 3HKO's with an opponent hit by Smokey Cr and Tula (pretty deep hole to climb out of... most people will give up)
He serves as an excellent blocker.
Here's my reasoning: Raeth, and some other cards, exist to BLOCK. Raeth isn't meant to be one of your big damagers, even though 5 damage is really (REALLY) good for a 4 star (Petra, GraksmxxT, Alexei, Marina and more) and he is designed to be a mirror of someone else. Did you figure it out?
They both have SoB and -8 opp attack (Raeth min 7, the other min 3), they're both 4 stars and they both have crazy hair.
**HINT**: I mentioned HER in my examples.
She's a staple card in any deck from her clan, and Raeth is a staple card in any deck for his clan. The 5 damage is still 5/12 of your opponent's life, people! If you hit someone three times with a 5, a 3, and a 1 damage card(s), how will they be able to close that gap? ESPECIALLY because of the Piranas bonus: How many opponents can close up a gap of 9 damage without fury and their bonus? And what about the Piranas pillz manipulation? What if that 1 damage was a Hawkins Noel and you just have 2 pillz, but your opponent has 4? If they use fury, they lose!
GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Epic Raeth Rant is over. If you want more rants, tough luck, this is an exception. I mainly write reviews.
So... yeah.
*I reposted this because the first had some unfortunate errors smiley*
