c Ralph

Released on Friday 09/09/11

Prepared to do anything to become a member of the Fang Pi Clang, Ralph agreed to carry out the lowliest tasks of the monastery. He just found it hard to understand why Kinjo was so particular about the accuracy of his movements when he was sweeping and cleaning the windows…until he finally realized that, as if by magic, he had mastered the art of kung-fu!

They named him Ralph, as in Ralph Macchio, as in the REAL Karate Kid.

Rate green if you, too, are sick of the lack of imagination in Hollywood these days.

=Fang Pi Clang=
1* 2/1
2* 4/2
3* 7/3 Ability: -2 Opp. Power, Min 4.

- 5 Damage is great for a 3*.
- His ability helps him in battle. He can tie 9 powered cards and has an edge over anything with 8 or less unaided power.
- He's a 3* card so it isn't too hard to fit him in decks.
- Although 3 damage is kinda low against SOB, he could still function against them pretty well.
- Obvious Karate Kid knockoff. I'm talking about the one with Jackie Chan of course.
- He has alot of fan story potential with Hawkins.

-Against SOA, he has 7 unaided power. Meaning he doesn't fare as well as Nakata or Zhu Tang against SOA.
-Weakness to DR's.
-Competition. Primarily with Nakata.

Which 3* Fang Pi Clang should I use?
@Nakata = With his ability intact, Ralph could potentially be better than Nakata. Against SOA and all stops however, Nakata will FAR exceed him. Nakata also has an 8 base power which will come is handy in all situations. Typically, if there's alot of SOA running rampant during that week, Nakata will be a much better choice. In all other cases, Ralph would be better; albeit not by much. In essence; Nakata = Ralph.

@Zhu Tang = Zhu Tang has an 8 base power with the potential to create massive life gaps. Against SOA, Zhu Tang is a solid 8/4 while Ralph is a relatively solid 7/5. Against SOB, Zhu Tang loses 2 damage but STILL would have the potential of creating a life gap of 4 (or 8 with fury) because of his ability. Ralph in the same situation would only be able to inflict 3 (5 w/ fury) against SOB, but would have a tad easier time winning the fight. I'm going with Zhu Tang here as the 8 power in general is just really sexy and he's just better overall against SOA or against SOB. Zhu Tang > Ralph.

@Sayura = Sayura is really underestimated. With her +8 attack manip, she's great in low pill battles. Coupled with the fact that she can deal 5 (7 w/ bonus, 9 w/ fury and bonus) damage for a 3* is GREAT. If her ability isn't hampered in some way, then she is better than Ralph in low pill battles. However, if she goes up against any attack manip clans, any SOA, OR face off in a high pill battle, then Ralph would be better in the long run. As far as solidness goes, Ralph > Sayura.

@Rei/Elya Cr = With her ability and bonus intact, Rei could be an 8/6 or with Elya Cr an 8/7 if she's couraged. Once those abilities are gone, Rei drops to a measly 5 power and Elya Cr drops to 3 power. Elya is even worse off as she HAS to be couraged in order to achieve her 8 power; Rei does not. But still, both are WAY too shaky IMO. Ralph > Rei/Elya Cr

@Xia Leming = While Xia is a DR, the amount he reduces is only 2. Not only that, but with his 6 power, he won't be winning much. Ralph > Xia Leming.

@Yu Mei = Both are relatively in the same spot as far as how they fare against SOA and SOB. However, Yu Mei's ability depends on what cards you're opponent have while Ralph's make it easier to win. Ralph > Yu Mei

@Yusuke = While he can inflict a really mean 7 damage when couraged; he is more hampered by DR's then Ralph is. His ability also makes him really predictable. Ralph > Yusuke.

@Windy Mor = Depending on the situation Windy's SOB could really come in handy at times. Unfortunately, his 6 power is just too low to take advantage of this. Ralph > Windy Mor

@Tatane, Seldnor Cr, Otome, Natrang, Endo = All of these are just really weak and outdated. Ralph > All of these.

Overall Score: 7.75 / 10

Also, before anyone makes comparison's with Radek from Jungo, you have to remember that against most min. 2, DR cards, Radek can create a difference of 4 (with his bonus), while Ralph can only inflict 2. Radek is much better than Ralph when up against Roots DR's.

A very underestimated card, he is extremely useful and in my opinion a staple for mono FPC users. Less predictable than most other cards. He's also very cheap at the moment, get him he's a great card.

He's a Fei equivalent with one less power, one less damage and one less star. He even has a better power reducing skill than Fei and to top it off, is less than a tenth of Fei's price
