u Sigurd

Released on Friday 10/02/12

Thanks to the Clint Sport Channel, lumberjack contests have now become a popular sport. Sigurd has become a true master in the art of cutting wood at break-neck speed with absolutely anything, and preferably while gesticulating wildly and grunting impressively for the TV crews.

First development of the 4 of this character’s different developments:

Attack +6

Sigurd's Attack points are increased by 6 points. (Remember: Power * Pillz = Attack)

-2 Opp Power, Min 1

The Power of the opposing character is reduced by 2 points or up to a minimum of 1. If the opposing character’s Power is lower than or equal to 1, then the Ability has no effect.

Alright, for my first review, let's look at Sigurd, All-Stars' newest card.

5* 6/8
+6 attack

Sigurd, in my opinion, is a very solid card. When I initially saw it, my first response was "meh," because the 6 power seems shaky to me. However, the more I think about him, the more I like him. While the 6 power isn't the best in the world, 6 power with the bonus of -2 power, min 1, leads to you many times being on par or stronger than your opponent's card, power-wise. Not only that, but attack manipulation combined with -power leads to many situations where the opponent has to overpill a ton just to beat you. (For example, if he was going against a 7 power card, and you play 6 pillz on Sigurd, They would have to pay 9 pillz just to beat him. That's quite a bit of overpilling, if you ask me.) When we combined that with his 8 damage, we have a card that can really pack a punch.

Of course, he's not without his weaknesses. His ability to be played aggressively goes down significantly against SOB, because chances are they will have more power than him. SOA hurts him too, although in my opinion not as much, since there's a good chance he can still overpower them. I also think better attack manipulation does very well against him, due to his lowish base power of 6.

Considering all that, I'll give him an 8/10, putting him up there with cards like Randy, Quinn, and Stacey. Attack manipulation and -power is one of my favorite combination of abilities/bonus, and I think Sigurd definitely takes advantage of that.

I appreciate you guys reading this, and feel free to rate it up if you found it useful.

Why all the hate? It's a reversed Havok with 1 more damage, and that sounds great for me.

Meanwhile, the Allstars still don't consider beach volleyball a "sport".

Why, oh why, did UR release this card and Hendz nearly back-to-back? They're nearly identical cards! Both 6/8, both Uncommon, both 5-stars. Talk about pointless...

So the only difference is their abilities. Hendz has power=power and Sigurd has Attack +6. I think I prefer Sigurd because his ability makes up more for All Stars weakness which is low pill battles. Hendz just adds to what All Stars do well, which is high power. So, yeah, Sigurd for me...

Timber is a better lumberjack - he breaks trees in his own hands :D

One thing people haven't mentioned about this card is that its 8 damage gives it great synergy with Randy (2hKO in ELO) and Aamir (2hKO in 12 life formats, 2hKO with fury in ELO), the two best 3*s in the clan.
