Greetings all, your friendly neighborhood Slify here once again
As we all know, art is essential in this game. Art adds that extra little flair beyond stats and abilities that makes us really appreciate a card, and I’m sure we all have our own favorite cards simply because of favor toward their art. But how many of us know about the artists behind the art?
If you’ve been playing this game for at least a week, you’ve probably seen, or even own a Sabrina Thauvin card. Sabrina Thauvin is known for drawing some of the strongest cards in the game. If you’ve been playing ELO, maybe you’ve seen such dominating forces like the dreaded poisoner Sylth, the massive All-Stop Shakra, or the great reducer Toro. If you’re into powerful collector, you may have heard of Lamar Cr. Ruby, Chiara, Chloe, Petra, Rico, Elvira, Louise, Ashigaru, Ambre, Eklore, Vholt, Z3r0 D34d, Olga, Kinjo, and I don’t know, maybe you’ve heard of a beast called Kolos, were all drawn by this fantastic artist. Oh, interesting fact, Sabrina has drawn the guild leaders for the last three clans released, Bloodh of Piranas, Ongh of Jungo, and Caelus of Skeelz. In the true spirit of the game, Sabrina even has an account of Urban Rivals, Player: 37653 . In fact, she is Urban Rival’s artistic director! She also has a website, http://www.lanoisettephalloide.com/ . Check it out some time if you can!
EDIT: phalloide for Miss Sabrina Thauvin, sorry folks
Debuting with the Montana, Angelia, I believe, Tony Semado is the genius behind the art of many great cards. If you’re playing Jungo, you should know the names of the giraffe explorer, Scopica, or the rising 5* wonder, Askai. Fans of Piranas will know him for illustrating the beauty Sting, the powerful 2* Hawkins, and the fearsome Tyd. Any true All-Stars fan recognize his work in Marina and Robb. Fans of nudity will know him for his impressive Jerry work, and Nightmare fans remember him for his chilling Ghumbo art. Also, he is responsible for the cutest thing in the world, SPLOSH! SPLOSH! SPLOSH! He has been a major artist in the releases of the Piranas , Jungo, and Skeelz and has recently released cards of fantastic quality, like Gatline and Jautya. Tony has a fantastic blog, http://odemes.over-blog.com/ , where you can not only find the complete artwork of many of your favorite cards, but many of his other fantastic art works that aren’t Urban Rivals related. He also has an Urban Rivals account, Madchewi , go buy a card from him in support if you can!
Julien Carette is a rising star here in Urban Rivals. He is the artist responsible for big beasts like Fabio, Adler, Sledg, and Sung Tzu. However, he also draws great 2* as well that are vital for their clans like Wendel and Sasha. On the vibe of Skeelz, he is the man that drew favorites such as Anton, Aylen, and Liam. He is still pumping out cards for the Urban Rivals community, recently drawing Big Mama, Chlora. Check out more of Julien’s work at http://lecaramelblog.blogspot.com/ and expect a lot from this man in the weeks to come!
Another newer artist, John Sein has already draw the arts of numerous cards considered staples in their clans. Don’t believe me? Maybe you’ve heard of a little 2* known as Jessie, as well as a very popular 3* known as Randy. Fang Pi will know him for cards like Chan and Kuei. If you’re into Skeelz, you have John to thank for Sandro, Cley, Milton, and Corvus! And who was stunned by this performance on Anibal? John is also responsible for the art of one of my favorite arts of all time, Jeyn. If you ever wanted see the full art of EVERY evolution of most of his cards, check his website at http://www.rgb-wet.blogspot.com/ . Definitely worth a visit!
Ronald Bousseau is another man who debuted with a card of greatness, used by even the greatest of players, Spiaghi. Since then, Ronald would go on to release classics like Shogunn, Nakata, Nyema, all heavy choices in their clans. He recently released cards like Beverly and Walden, and is sure to release great cards in the future! His website
http://lesdessinsderoro.blogspot.com/search/label/Urban%20Rivalshttp://lesdessinsderoro.blogspot.com/search/label/Urban%20Rivals , is a great place. Not only can you find the full art of all your favorite UR cards by Ronald, but you can also see some of the rejected versions of some of your favorite cards! Take a look if you can.
Cyril Le Scouarnec is a great artist known for his great classics such as Naginata and Lucia. Both fantastic cards with wonderful art, both incredibly beautiful with a lot of detail. Unfortunately for us, Cyril has only released two cards for Urban Rivals so far, but hopefully, we can see more of him in the future.
If you are looking for art of high quality, then all you have to do is see Emmanuel Bouley’s work. If you’re into La Junta, you have Emmanual to thank for the art of a truckload of cards; Masamu, Myke, Tank, Winston, Uxoh, Burger, Chiro, and the honorable Emeth. If you really enjoyed the art of Aurora, like I did. He also draws staples from many clans; Murray, Wakai, Eadh, Glorg, Graff, Rolph, Unagi, Rowdy, Oscar, Mona, Dalhia, Smokey, and Macro. All of which are commonly seen not only in Daily Tournaments, but ELO. The lovable duo of Coby and Dayton are also thanks to Emmanuel. He is also responsible for the Rescue’s clan leader, Kerry. If you want to see all your favorite cards in full art, as well as some of Emmanuel’s other great art, check out his website at http://kahouetcity.over-blog.com/ .
If you’ve been playing this game for a while, you have seen a card drawn by Pascal Kov. That legendary “P.K” signature has graced the corners of some of the most popular and sought-after cards in Urban Rivals. All Stars fans have seen him on one of the most popular 4* choice, Striker. Alexei, Leviatonn, XU52, Bryan, Python, Estalt, Kenny, Nistarok, Yookie, Zdrone, and Samantha (all very popular and many highly used cards) are all graced by Pascal. Many of this works have even transcended to Collector status, such as Terry Cr and Melissa Cr. In addition, PK has drawn one of UR’s most famous work of art, Lulabee. To add to PK’s impressive list of accomplishments, Pascal is behind the arts of three major clan leaders; Copper of Sentinel, Borris of Freaks, and Sigmund Cr of GHEIST, as well as a good number of Leader cards, like Hugo, Bridget, and Morphun. Like many of the other greats, Pascal Kov also has an account on Urban Rivals, APEKA. Check it out!
You may know the fish hook. You may know the art. But do you know the artist? Nicholas Petrimaux is the mastermind behind all of your favorite fishhook arts, and is the artist to many classics. He is the man that has drawn the legendary Leader, Eyrik. He has also drawn the sexy ninja, Rei, the Dazzling Esmeralda, the powerful Lennox, and one of the most popular 2*s in the game, Gil. He has made strong contributions to the rescue clan as well in the form of Steve, Bobby, and Slyde. Nicholas is a great and talented artist!
Simon Pike may not have drawn much yet for Urban Rivals but he is responsible for the two Ts of beauty, Tula and Tamy. Tula, of course, is known for being a very popular 2* Piranas choice and Tamy is a girl in a panda costume. Both phenomenal pieces of art.
