Was UR as imbalanced/pay-to-win as FR when it was in beta/just released?

There was no beta for UR. There was no market for around 6 months. The bog 5 went cr before the market came out. DTs and ELO was extremely easy.

I remember playing UR like 2 or 3 years ago and everything was randomized. pills and damage mattered, but even if their card was better, in damage the lower dmg card could still win. I raged so much back then lol

UR started out as a phone game in France. it didn't have an open beta though it would of been tested in the company for a bit.

The whole system was different then.
they had a java based game application which could be used on phones.
you could actually use it instead of the flash interface for a while, but they stopped supporting it.

it took a while, but Urban-rivals got back into the phone market.
far less clunky than just using smart phones with flash.

ultimately this is still a beta, never ending, always growing, improving.
