Jigz0r: is it? As far as I see SOA/SOB could (or rather: SHOULD) still apply. The pillz should be returned - not "not used in the first place". i.e. no 11 pillz + fury in round one - you only have 12. In essence a refund, not a discount.
One thing with the Courage bonus clans... keep in mind that this actually nullifies all Courage: SOB (is there one besides Rescue's
Kerry?). And it is, on the other hand, fully stopped by 2 SOB cards which will come in very, very predictable and will almost certainly be played at those two rounds where they have effect. I am not really sure this would be a very good idea. Maybe overpowered if the opponent has no SOB in his hand and a certain loss if he has 2. I am somewhat hesitant about such "win with luck 93%, lose without luck 93%" clans/boni.
But generally the idea to spend pillz for "other" things beside +power_attack or +floor(1/3) damage, max 1 has some appeal. THEN, however it comes to the question: how complicated is this game intended to be made? And I daresuppose: the game is designed to remain on the least complicate level possible. Which would speak absolutely against a multitude of new abilities. (I mean, look at the n00bs: they do not read the abilites even now. Personally, I never understood what is difficult even about those lots of abilities in Magic:TG - but even there they decided to 'reduce' abilites in the core set.)
