Frowns has it right.
With practice you tend to know the general picture of play, like for eg. good players usually pill either 8-9/1 pill(s) on
Snowflake,
Muze or
Cherry. As Frowns has already mentioned above, the more you play the better you get to know about the game, the players and the playstyles. Examples...
... if I happen to fight against a level 25 or below player ... I expect him to either play 6 pills or 3-4 pills in the first round (and which they generally do)
... A
Rescue player generally olds or 2 pills each round
... etc
All in all, EVERYONE loses a few matches due to minor miscalculations (Hugo's ability cost me quite a few matches
). The only advice I can give is to play play play and think think think ...
... but please do not think so much in the Fight club or during the DTs. Nobody cares if you win or lose in the Fight club (except for those player fixated on their W/L ratio); and especially during the DTs, even if you do play like a pro, win an impossible match but take 5 minutes to do it ... then you're going straight to your opponents BL (yup ... DT professionals tend to do that)
So ... PLAY PLAY PLAY
