Hey guys so this might be a short thread, who knows.
so in general, people always say, oh Fuzz Lou XU52 same card pretty much. and occasionally, 'oh XU52 has a better ability cuz of low minimum, beats Uppers and sakrohm' whilst that is true, i bring another argument.
Fuzz actually comes out on top of them 3.
while facing against each other they are the same card, there is a MAJOR difference, with Fuzz having SoA as ability. so what difference does that bring, well you will realize when facing Piranas and Nightmare. those are the clans with THE peskiest abilities, and having Fuzz on your team is gold. in that case, +8 attack really does not do much.
not to mention, in mono and even 3/1 split environments, SoA would be so abundant on your team that it would actually be less precious, and Lou would have been better off having some other ability, like + 2 power (point being SoA being less precious.
finally, SoA clans tend to NOT have as threatening abilities, since that would otherwise make them op. So:
Fuzz > XU52 > Lou (ignoring synergy with clan)
Lol try to read the comments. Fuzz has the invaluable SoA as his ABILITY. thats precious in a that would need that. Lou and XU52 are in clans which have SoA as their BONUS. this means every card has it and it is less valuable. also it does not prevent Nightmare + Piranas.... in the case of split hands, SoA is definitely better than 8 attack
I don't know if you have a secret stash of Fuzz that you want to increase in price or what but to just simply say Fuzz is better than his other 2 counter parts is a very far fetched claim.
If we was to break this whole thing down Fuzz always come out bottom. With counters to SoA becoming increasing common (Backslash,Stop) how can one just simply say 'SoA is definitely better than 8 attack' When 8 attack doesn't have a down side? 8 Attack is 8 attack and the only thing that stops it (ironically) is SOA.
Lou is "elo banned" and I won't even consider him at all (maybe once or twice):
If you want to beat cards like Jeena, Bristone, Flora, etc, xu 52 is better than Fuzz.
If Skeelz, random anti soa like Karen, Ivana or Glosh are being played, Fuzz is better.
Fuzz has other cards with attack manipulation on their clan, but you could choose your other semi-deck if your plan is to play xu 52 on your GHEIST half deck (tie)
If you have one DJ Korr Cr to play, Fuzz is better.
If you hate to play SOA vs SOA, Fuzz is better again.
If you are playing Junkz (forget extended format), you could choose Qubik or Otakool instead of Fuzz, here, xu 52 is better (you don't have a 3* 6/4 +8 attack nor a 4* 7/5 + 8 attack on GHEIST), but just because he has a pretty rare ability on his clan (comeback Arkn!).
If you have luck (or skillz) winning your 50%, xu 52 is better (he will be your friend against distracted players).
If you have Kiki Cr, please, play Lou.
dolly was banned, Fuzz is better (or GHEIST is worse).
do you want high damage cards? xu 52 is better (GHEIST).
are in the room plenty of Piranas/Nightmare decks? Fuzz is better.
Think twice, could you put SOA on your card throwing one or two pillz to compensate the lack of that +8 attack? Fuzz is better.
If you have DJ Korr Cr and Kiki Cr, xu 52 is the worst card ever created :P
Put the best card to fix the weakness of your deck/strategy or to increase the synergy of your deck (the player is the best).
This is just my point of view.
Lol I know this is all highly subjective and we will never reach a consensus, but here are my opinions:
imho XU52 is the best because:
1. His attack manip is much needed in a clan that doesn't have any.
2. His clanmates also have high damage, meaning you could spare to use him as a low-pilled surprise/cheap-shot card, making 6 power less of a liability and attack manip more of an asset.
Fuzz comes in second because:
1. His 6-power is not a liability due to the excellent pill-conserving properties of his clanmates, but their low average damage also paints a huge bullseye on fuzz's back, and it's never a good idea to have your opponent home in on a 6-powered card that has half the damage of your draw tied to it.
2. His ability SoA is great for stopping SoB clans, but his high starcount makes it much less so. There aren't many situations where you can afford to use him as a throwaway SoA to stop Dalhia or Karrion, not when half the damage of your hand is tied to him. The perk of a high star SoA is the ability go go through DRs, but then you'd have to balance his ability to go through Artus and Ulrich with his inability to go through Bristone and Jeena, which imho comes out even.
Lou is worst because:
1. Lots of SoA and lots of attack manip in her clan, making her non essential.
2. elo banned.
SoA on 8 damage + pill forcing in clan = good
SoA on 8 damage + no round winners in clan = mediocre
Furthermore, since SoB clans are ability-reliant by nature, Fuzz can fight many staples in them at least moderately well. Lizbeth, Tula, Edwin, Taljion, Scubb, etc etc. In many cases he is at a 1 power disadvantage, at other cases he is at equal power, and at some he has an advantage. 8 power is rare in SoB clans. Meaning... He will often need just 1 extra pill to win.
I am surprised at the number of good ELO players not seeing this...
And, Bison, when was the last time that you played SoA and felt at a disadvantage because of a backlash ability? In fact, how often do you see backlash in ELO at all?
It's hard to tout the benefits of Fuzz vs SoB clans when SoB has never been a problem for the Junkz, with or without Fuzz. Qubik, Eebiza and Gibson totally pwn SoB clans, and even low stars like Flanagan or that new 3* could give Piranas and NM trouble. If you're playing Junkz and you meet an SoB opponent, with all things being equal you have a good chance of winning regardless of whether Fuzz is in your deck or not.
Not disagreeing with you and imho this is a really weird topic to begin with (why does anyone need to compare Fuzz to XU52 anyways?), but it's interesting to argue with people who have different approaches to the game
