u Harvey

Released on Friday 27/07/12

Harvey was an upstanding and resolute officer of the law who remained rigid in the face of the corruption. During the protection program of female hacker Fizzle, the right side of his body was burnt by Fabio when he intervened to save her. But despite his injuries, Harvey has continued his protection work… However, his silence, combined with the serious look in his eye and his new passion for certain objects, is beginning to become a real concern for the young hacker…

Harvey, the flammable Sentinel officer.

His ability - from a measly 6 / 5 Harvey (U) turns into a beast of an 8 / 7. This is even better taking into account that his bonus increases his attack by 8, giving you an extremely powerful attacker.

His art - fudgegraphik really outdid himself.

His ability - His ability is Courage-based, meaning that you will have to play him first. Why is this negative? Well, that question has an obvious answer: it enables your opponent to giveaway his S.O.A. or his D.R. to Harvey (U), reducing his usability. However, if you are Lucky enough to face someone that happened to not draw his or her S.O.A. or D.R., you are in luck, because Harvey (U) can be a game changer.

His base stats - Without his ability, Harvey (U) becomes quite pitiful, because a 6 / 5 alone scares no one. I mean, look at Tamy (C), or Billy Bob (C).

Harvey (U) compares fairly well with the rest of his 4 star clan mates.

Against Coby (U): Coby (U) is, and has been, a staple for the Sentinel clan. With his ability activated, Coby (U) has the same stats as Harvey (U) (with his ability activated), and they both have their pros and cons. Coby (U) is much more ability-dependant, but can be played to his full extent in any of the 4 rounds.

Against Dragan (CR): Does anyone really use Dragan (CR)?

Against Jakson (R): Jakson (R) is very solid, and having his ability or not doesn't really trouble him, because there are not that many cards with combined DR and S.O.A., only Bristone (U), Sigmund (CR), Arno (U), Ataoualpet (C), Jeena (R), Yookie (C), Jayzel (U) and Yayoi (U).

Against Kamakura (R): Kamakura is a very interesting card. He has the possibility to become a beast, due to his conditional ability. In other words, he is just like Harvey (U). And, therefore, Harvey (U) wins in the end, because his ability makes him become bigger than Kamakura.

Against Malia (C): Just like Dragan (CR), does anyone really use Malia?

Against Miranda (U): If Miranda was seen as a second option to Coby (U) and was beggining to be seen as obsolete since the release of Jakson (R), and could still kind of fight with Kamakura (R), she is completely forgotten from competitive play with the release of Harvey (U).

Against Swidz (CR), Zdrone (U) and Zhang (C): For the third, fourth and fifth time, does anyone really use any of these?

Harvey (U) has the possibility to be an unbelievably good card. The fact that his ability is conditional means that you won't be able to use the best he has to offer 4 out of 4 rounds. His real competition is Coby (U), Jakson (R) and Kamakura (R). With an activated ability, Harvey (U) and Coby (U) have the same base stats. Jakson (R) is more solid all-around than all of the other 4 star Sentinels, not meaning that he is the best. And Kamakura (R) seems, to me, to be not as good as Harvey (U). Overall, Harvey (U) has the potential to see play time in just about every Sentinel deck, being it more probable in T1 or ELO than in T2.

It's fun to notice how there are little mementos of the Montanas with him in the first three levels: Fabio's hat (first). Simon's judge wig (2nd) and Edd Cr's watch and cigar (3rd).

Who thinks there should be Scarecrow for Nightmare and Mr. Freeze for Frozn?

Ability: Courage: Power And Damage +2
Bonus: Attack +8

-Sentinel bonus is a plus.
-He already has a decent 5 damage, and with his ability, he has 7. I like dat.
-6 power is meh, especially for a 4*, but with his ability, he has 8. I like dat too.
-He is a very nice replacement for Coby if you choose not to play mono. With the same potential 8/7 stats, he is a beast if he has no impediments to block him.

-Courage. It makes him predictable and weak, being that he can be easily countered. Your opponent can have a DR or SoA card lying in wait.
-Or even SoB can be a stumbling block.
-Coby, Jakson, and Kamakura. Of course, Coby is only playable in mono, and one could debate whether Kamakura is better than Harvey, so that leaves Jakson. Decisions, decisions.

Overall rating: 8.5/10
Despite his weaknesses, the potential for greatness is... well, great. Basically a Coby with the mono limitations. His predictability is unfortunate, but honestly, your opponent won't always be able to counter it. And it's not like it's only Harvey your opponent has to worry about. Harvey is still a very viable option, so consider it.

O.K. so the Pussycats have Catwoman, The Sentinal have Two-face....now we need The Joker for the Freaks, the Penguin for the Uppers, Scarface for the Montanna, Posion Ivy for the Roots, Killer Moth for the Junga, Killer Croc for the Bezerk, Rhash Al-Ghoul for the Nightmare, and for the Rescue we have Batman himself

Monday 08/07/2013, 20:41

bane in the hurracan

Friday 29/05, 02:03

Joker is Montana
Rhash Al-Ghoul is Fang Pi Clang, because ninjas
Bane would do well in GHEIST, I think (Ability: "Break Opp. Spirit & Body";)

Batman is implied, but not actually released, because a 10/10 "Stop Opp. Ability and Bonus" isn't gonna do much good for the balance.
