The arrival of Dr Ergo, the distinguished bio-engineering specialist, has extended the boundaries of insanity for the GHEIST clan. Having grafted onto his neck XU12, an embryo that had previously been considered a failure, he has tirelessly evolved the creature to prove the best form of development for young life is human company… and of course a good dose of growth hormones!

Vryer's Experiment Log

Subject #498

Dr Ergo

Ahh, I must say, today is a joyous day, indeed! Well, everyday is a joyous day when you can wake up and do strange and obscene experiments to help your clan one day rule a cesspool of a city. But that's besides the point. The reason I say that today is a good day is because both I and the GHEIST were fortunate enough to have one of the most brilliant minds in all of the city join us in our goal of world domination. Allow me to introduce Dr Ergo, my friend and colleague back when I worked in that miserable excuse for a university. He was one of the only people I could actually have a 'conversation' with. And I use that term in the loosest sense, because despite being in a place where a lot of minds are suppose to gather, just being in that place can cause your brain cells to vastly disappear by the second.

Anyway, back on topic. I'm sure that many of you are wondering what exactly is 'intelligent' about a man such as this. Well, I'll admit, despite the amount of respect I hold for the man and despite my previous comments, Dr Ergo isn't exactly... all there, so to speak. In fact, he's right up there with Astrid and Dr Saw when it comes to who's the most insane person in GHEIST. (As if we didn't have enough of that to go around.) But, as I'm sure you all know, appearances can be deceiving. The doctor just happens to be a well-known bio engineer who wrote many famous articles and theses on the human body and its immune system. This may be hard for you to believe, but it was actually his work that got me into the genetic and cloning process to begin with. So, I suppose I have him to thank for getting me fired, as well as joining up with GHEIST.

After I left the horrid university and joined up with GHEIST, Dr Ergo followed me, believing that if I wasn't there, then the teaching business was worthless. I'm glad to have inspired such loyalty in the mind. I don't know if I could have done the same. The thing you have to realize about me is that I don't hand out my trust to join anyone I like. You have to go the extra mile for me to both like and trust you. Take Dr. GHEIST for example. He rescued me from a hopeless situation and gave me the means to continue my research. He is one of the few men I can say I like and respect. But does that mean I trust him? No, I don't. I know that's sad to say, especially since everything I am, I owe to Dr. GHEIST, but that's just how I am. Sorry to say.

Anyway, continuing on from where I left off, Ergo followed me and joined me in GHEIST. Dr. GHEIST, himself, was a bit skeptical of having a strange man such as him in our ultra secret crime organization, but I ensured him that Ergo would earn his keep here like everyone else. After having a short talk with him, Dr. GHEIST graciously allowed him to stay. Afterwards, the two of us began our work in creating our first experiment in GHEIST. After going over various notes and debating day and night for an entire week, Ergo and I came up with a brilliant genetic creature to serve us: the XU12. Unfortunately, we failed to take in account the creature's short life span. Upset and disappointed at our failure, I planned to trash the worthless experiment. However, Ergo stopped me and asked if he could take the creature for himself, to experiment on his own time. I was too upset to argue with him, so I allowed him to do so.

After that first disaster, Dr Ergo and I continued to create more genetic lifeforms, going all the way from XU22 to XU52. I tell you, after the last three failures, I was ready to call it quits, right then and there. If not for Ergo's optimism and encouragement, I might not have been able to find the extra drive to complete the creature you all know today, XU52. It was truly of work of genius. Not only did it possess supernatural strength, but its appearance alone was more than enough to intimidate any poor fool who tried to oppose it. Dr. GHEIST thanked both Ergo and I for our success, and the whole clan organization was in uproar. I was happy to be showered with praise, but Ergo paid no attention, as he was busy observing the XU12.

Ergo, sadly, disappeared after that and any attempt I had at trying to contact him, failed, as he refused to reply back. Upset at this, I put it in the back of my mind, realizing he had his own goals. To say I was shocked when he turned up at the door to the GHEIST base asking to join again would be an understatement, especially considering what he had done to himself. Using his scientific know-how, as well as with a little hormonal fluid, the doctor found a way to make our failed creation into a work of art. I was both surprised and amazed. I realized that after seeing that, I knew I had a lot more to learn about experimenting. But that's another story. The thing is, Dr Ergo is back with us, and I personally, couldn't be happier. I just hope he doesn't mind all the stares he's going to get from now on...

Dr Ergo gets his name from the Cartoon Network television show, Ben 10. The original character's name was Dr Ego who what a biochemist that fused together DNA of different animals, creating beasts. In the last evolution of the card, we see that he has a mutation coming out of his back. That design for that mutation is one of the aliens that the protagonist of Ben 10 was able to turn into. OMG UR brought my childhood back :D
