Dr Saw

Lvl1.Power/Damage: 2/1 (No ability) (Stop opp. ability)
Lvl2.Power/Damage: 3/1 (No ability) (Stop opp. ability)
Lvl3.Power/Damage: 6/1 (+1 life per damage) (Stop opp. ability)
Lvl4.Power/Damage: 6/4 (+1 life per damage) (Stop opp. ability)

A great 4 star card for GHEIST. Not the best 4 star ever but it's alright. The +1 life per damage is pretty good if you use fury.

Please rate.

Sigmund's GHEIST Log:

Subject #213

Dr Saw

I know I've said this plenty of times, but GHEIST really does attract many weird people into its ranks. Now, I'm not complaining or anything, as each new person who joins us only helps to increase our strength and further our cause for world domination. But after reviewing a lot of the people here, I'm starting to wonder if they are even more insane than I am. Of course, insanity is everything in the world. When you've been labeled as insane, then that basically means that you are feared by all, as humanity fears that which they do not understand. And when it comes to insanity, none is more insane than GHEIST's own Dr Saw.

I first met Dr Saw while I was working as a doctor in the Clint City hospital. We didn't really associate with each other much, because we worked in different parts of the hospital. When we did meet each other, we were operating on a poor fool who had managed to hurt himself by crossing those wanna-be rap stars called the Bangers. Needless to say, I was amazed at how efficient Saw was able to operate on the person, without even breaking a sweat. In shorter terms, he made me look like an amateur, something I'm not proud to admit. In case you don't know, I hate being second to anyone.

One night, I was forced to work overtime, something I wasn't proud of. In case you don't know, I also hate being told by others what to do. Giving me suggestions or asking me to do something, I don't really have a problem with. But when you TELL me to do something, that's where I draw the line. Anyway, while I was working, I overheard some noises, such as screams coming from somewhere nearby. I ignored it after a while, as it was probably some poor fool who awoke in pain or something. But soon, the screams continued.

Irritated and curious at the same time, I decided to go investigate. As I walked down the hall, the screams got louder, and were coming from a nearby room. I walked into the room, and looked as the person was still alive, yet his skin was literally tore off, and blood was rushing from his body. I stared at him, not blinking an eye. When you're a doctor living in a place like Clint City, you get used to the sight of dead bodies, and such. He stared at me, unable to talk, yet his eyes looked at me, desperate, as if he was begging me for help.

While I was debating what to do, I looked as figure walked into the room. I looked as it was Dr Saw. I stared at him, as his smile was that of a madman. He walked past me, not even blinking, as if he was unaware of my presence. The victim on the operating table stared at Saw, as if he were a monster or a demon. Was he the one who did this to this man? As if to answer my question, Saw took out a small knife and cut the man's eye out, making him scream in terror and pain. Dr Saw smiled, sadistically, as he continued cutting the man up, as his blood covered Saw's hands. He continued this, until the man at last, finally died.

It was then that it seemed as if Saw was aware of my presence, as he looked up at me, still smiling. I looked at the man before me, a cold sweat appearing on my forehead. This man who was a kind doctor with a happy smile during the day, was nothing more than a fake. At night, when everyone had gone home, his true face appeared, a sadistic man who enjoyed nothing more than the sight and smell of blood. He stared at me, still smiling, as if he was contemplating should I be his next victim. The man had this look in his eye, as if he was warning the person looking at him to not trust him, for nothing good could come out of it. His eyes looked empty, as if he had no conscience, no knowledge of what 'right' and 'wrong' were, no morals, whatsoever. And although it frightened me to the bone, I felt somewhat intrigued by him.

After I quit my job as a doctor, and formed up the organization now known as GHEIST, I offered Saw the chance to join up with us, finding a great need for his insatiable bloodlust. I was surprised when he refused, as he liked his job as a doctor, and didn't dare to give it up. Of course, I knew he was simply saying this because he didn't want to give up his love for blood. But I promised him, that if he joined up with GHEIST, then he would be able to benefit from the services of our top killers, Lilith and Methane.

Thinking about it, Saw accepted and became part of our mighty organization. Besides, helping Vryer or any of the other scientists out when he has a chance, Dr Saw is also the one in charge of supplying GHEIST with the many slaves that we import and export. Of course, that doesn't stop him from killing some of them first to make sure they are... 'slave material.' I worry about that man at times.

Dr Saw is a spoof of Dr. Death, an infamous Nazi war criminal (and one of the most wanted), who performed horrific experiments to Jewish patients in death camps, such as unneeded experiments without anesthesia and injecting poisons like petrol into the hearts of patients.

Dr. Saw radiates charisma and smarm... or something like that. A 4-star for GHEIST, and as he tends to float around only 1000 clintz, you aren't likely to break the bank with him.

+ Four damage with +1 life/damage means he can open up a bleeding wound of 8 life gap, 12 with fury.
+ At only four stars, he's not horrible to budget into your deck.
+ Being as he isn't one of the most-used or well-known of the GHEIST, you're opponent may not be used to dealing with him.
+ Fearing his rage damage, Dr. Saw makes a good bluff card.
+ The art is great, in my opinion. Especially at 2 and 4 stars.

- At only 6 power with no attack or power manipulation, it takes careful planning to get his damage through. Most 3 star cards can outdo him pill-for-pill, and at 4 stars, an attack tie means he'll defer to most opponents.
- SOA clans or Full-stops are a problem, as it cuts his damage potential in half. That said, the GHEIST ability can help to protect his ability a little, but not always.
- Damage Reducers really cut down his effectiveness as well. Pussycats make his gap powers 4 and 8 with fury, and reducers like Ulrich can lock him at gaps of four after bonus-blocking.
- VERY Reliant on his bonus to protect him. Without it, he is not only vulnerable to greater damage reduction from titans like Uranus, and from those with SOA as an ability, but he is more vulnerable to attack and power manipulation, making his 6 power even more noticeable.

This guy can do some serious hurt, and can easily make the game for you, but every time more low-level cards with high power and attack manipulation appear, his 6 power becomes more apparent. He also has to compete for that four-star spot against characters like Methane and Toro, and is considerably less efficient than either of them in anything less than a full deck. I really want to like this guy, but he just doesn't pull the numbers he needs. Still, a great card for people who are just building their GHEIST decks and can't afford the heavy hitters, and he's always fun for getting the life-gaining achievements without pulling in Jungo or Nightmare. A good card, but not the best card for those with a choice.
