r Rolph

Released on Friday 04/01/08

Nasty, vicious and violent, Rolph was prepared to do anything to become the boxing world champion, including forming a pact with the GHEIST. And now, thanks to Vryer’s scientific know-how, Rolph is finally ready to take on Hammer but he's got a nasty feeling his teacher hasn’t told him the whole story and that strange changes are taking place that he didn’t exactly sign up to...

Current comment #1
"Rolph is good, but not good enough to be elo banned. rate green if you agree!"

Current comment #2
"NO!!! Not Elo banned..

Rate green if you don't think he should be Elo banned."

I think it's time those comments were rated down and/or overtaken by a reasonable comment that explains why he SHOULD stay banned (I mean no less than caelus but he's still lethal). N for them to realize Rolph is a killer in ELO.

So he has crappy stats as a 5*. It's alright, his ability makes up for that. Now, once 7 powered opp cards are now 5 power, once 6 or less are now 4 power, anything less is irrelevant. N now nothing really compares to Rolph if it isn't in Roots, GHEIST, All Stars, Bangers or Ulu Watu. There's not that many of them in ELO usually (well, except GHEIST)

His weaknesses are cards with lower minimums, but there's not that many allowed in ELO, except the all star clan or Tula. Whoever even thinks to use Havok would lose to Rolph anyways, since his bonus takes care of annoying abilities like that.

Your opp has a stop: ability? well, it's prolly only + attack or power, rolph's ability will take care of that anyways, most cards wouldn't overpower him after all that anyways.

Opp bluffed? Well, you did 6 damage anyways, it's more than decent since the opp life is halfway gone.
Fear of the opp calling your bluff? Play safely anyways, you don't wanna pass up 6 damage just like that. If they won the round, you're prolly now winning in pillz

Lvl 2: (Vryer to Rolph over headset) "With my new advanced technology, you won't really have to do anything. Just let the machinery take control."
Lvl 3: (Rolph to Vryer) "You expect me to put on these puny little gloves over my muscular fists?!"
Lvl 4: (Vryer to Rolph) "Just continue the training course. Remember, take your time" (Rolph To Vryer) "You're right, I feel so powerful now. You're one talented..."
Lvl 5: (Rolph) "AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" (Vryer) "Yes, YES!! HE'S ALIVE... Well he always was alive, but MY NEW TECHNOLOGY WORKS NOW!!!"

Rolph - 7/6 with -2 opp power, min 4 (ability) and soA (bonus)

- A solid power of 7, which is cool.
- Great 6 damage (8 with fury) that enables him to 2HKO with Anial, Methane, or furious Arkn
--2 opp power really helps in the winning division, but that min of 4 is excellent! Anything that isn;t heavily hit by SoA is sure to get decreased
- And anything with a power of 4 or less is sure to have a good ability. Good abilities disappear thanks to SoA
- Usable at lvl4. Somewhat of a less situational but weaker Anibal or a weaker Toro.
- Even without SoA, Rolph is quite the force.

- Caelus and Tula.
- 5* is quite a lot.
- He has a lot of 4* competition.

Overall: 8.5/10. Don't let anyone fool you, Rolph is a great card. He is solid, he is damaging, and he has a nice ability. His extra damage over Toro can win you games, and his ability to fury 2HKO with GHEIST's smaller cards like Z3r0 D34d and Arkn should not be overlooked. great in survivor, a strong ELO card as well. Consider Rolph into any deck you have

i dont get why Toro is so much more than Rolph apart from the one less star. yes, his -power is one less but his power is one more so it sort of evens it out, if not makes him better in that way. for instance theres a 6 power card and your opp. just used him, who do you use, Toro or Rolph? you use Rolph because then you have an advantage of 3 power instead of 2against soa he is more likely to win than Toro and he has 1 less damage. i would use Rolph over Toro anyway because in type two it doesnt matter how many stars you have.

if Toro is worth 7k so is Rolph since you cant use Toro in elo anyway. and i wont put 'rate green if you agree' because you will all vote red, although it doesnt matter as you probably will anyway.

i rate Rolph 9.5/10 because he usually has one over his opp.

Vryer's Experiment Log:

Experiment #632

Ah, it pleases me so to find such willing subjects who will give up a piece of themselves to help GHEIST further our cause for ruling the city one day. Dolly is a fine example. Whenever I need some samples for an experiment or something, she's always willing to give up a piece of herself, without any complaints. And that is why she has my eternal gratitude. I've never met a woman, like her. And I seriously doubt I ever will.

But enough about that! Dolly is not the subject of this review; no offense to her, of course. The person I'm talking about is Rolph, a large monster of a man who is as dangerous as he is rude. He is everything a GHEIST member needs to be: nasty, quick to anger, and insane. Of course, I wouldn't tell these things to him face-to-face. I like my face when my eyes aren't black, and when it hasn't been punched inside-out, if you know what I mean. Seesh, just thinking about this takes me back to when I worked at that rotten university. I'm glad I got fired from that dump.

Anyway, back on topic. When I first heard of Rolph, he was just a regular street thug, who made a living out of beating up other street thugs and mugging innocent people. Apparently, he used to be enrolled in a boxing class in a gym nearby that soon went out of business. He dropped out of it, however, as the people there weren’t really allowed to hurt each other. So, he decided to take his skills to the backstreets of Clint City, by cleaning up its filth.

Soon, the thrill of fighting got to him, and he started killing his opponents. Not willing to give this up, he added mugging to his list, and started robbing gas stations and thrift stores. His sins eventually caught up with him, and he was arrested by the Sentinel. Luckily for him, however, the Montana, who heard of his reputation, broke him out of jail and hired him to work for them. Feeling he owed them, Rolph accepted and started working in Prince Jr in his underground fighting circuit.

Though he wasn’t allowed to kill, Rolph was still allowed to hurt his opponents badly, which was good enough for him. He soon went undefeated throughout the entire circuit and his reputation skyrocketed throughout Clint City. One night, while Rolph continued pounding his opponents, he soon went up against the current boxing champion, Hammer. The two fought well, but soon it ended, and Hammer became the new champion.

Upset by his defeat, Rolph left the Montanas, and wandered around Clint City. Luckily, I was able to save him from the depths of a drunken depression, promising that if he joined GHEIST, he’d able to get revenge on Hammer for embarrassing him, and reclaim his title as ‘the best.’ Intrigued, Rolph accepted and I began experimenting on him. First, I injected him with a serum that would keep him unconscious until my work on him was completed.

Afterwards, I started my work using my scientific know-how, along with Dolly’s much appreciated assistance. I installed his arms with plates of titanium, making his punches hurt more than they already did, and then I started to build more machinery on him, turning him completely into a cyborg, making less into a man and more of a weapon at GHEIST’s beck and call.
Rolph wasn’t exactly pleased with the results, however, but I convinced him that Hammer would no longer be a match for him, and he would have his title back. Though he still wasn’t happy, he soon realized that I was right, as he could fill the power flowing from his whole body into his arms. Needless to say, he liked it. Who doesn’t like power, after all?

Now, Rolph helps the GHEIST out, though he still doesn’t understand what our goal is, exactly. Lately, he’s been getting frustrated because he can never finish Hammer off whenever he has the chance, as the All Stars always interfere. But I could care less about that. As long as he is making himself useful, then that meathead can do what he wants. And if I ever feel that Rolph may start feeling a bit rebellious, I’ll just have Dolly reprogram him again. Ha, I really do love it when a plan comes together. Especially if it’s a plan I, myself, made.

UR, the amount of character you have been banning is despicable. I joined this game in 2009 and I had nothing. To earn clintz, you need good cards. If you don't have connections; you must invest. I have invested over 400 US dollars in credits and gotten packs- and for what?! ANY of the good cards I can use have been banned because people complain about them. And it's not so much that these cards get banned because they are unfair; players complain about these specific cards because it hurts their specific decks in which they use to get to the top of Elo. Other players get upset because either they can never beat them (simply because they have a poor ethic in pill usage) or simply because they can't afford it and see it is easier to complain about a card and have it banned than to learn how to play the game well. From packs, I have recieved more than 900 cards from packs and only a good chunk of them were good cards that could aid me in Elo. And little by little, ALL of them have been banned. But you guys don't ban the Cr's such as Kerozinn or Marlysa that are not easily obtained and only FEW players have the resources to obtain? COME ON! Admins are supposed to be looking out for the best interests of ALL the players; not just their own. Since when do beginners use DJ Korr Cr or General Cr??? THEY DON'T. But when they are able to work for months playing daily tournaments and busting their *** trying to save up enough clintz, then they actually buy the cards they need to get better scores in Elo and daily tournaments, you guys will ban those cards? Then what happens? Their entire decks become useless! Stop these ridiculous bans and allow the game to be played the way it was supposed to be played from the start: EQUALLY!!!!!

ok went against Rolph many times in a row, and i can tell you this, no cards in Rescue junks phreaks cand handle this piece of free6dmg, this guy is the king of sparring, so it doesnt really matter who you send( Flinch, caelus and Chiara Cr beat him thats it) SOA will take care of anything that can help against his ability , and his ability will take care of most "STOP"s, no surprise this Frankenstein was sealed forever to remain out of elo, winning a round with him is really too simple.
