u Donnie

Released on Friday 14/08/09

With no family ties to the Montana clan, Donnie's worked hard to get where he is today in the organization. This slow and difficult ascent, fraught with pitfalls and hard knocks, has made him very sensitive (not to mention suspicious). So now, more than ever, you'd be very wise not to get on the wrong side of him…

Donnie - 7/5 with Revenge: -2 Life min 1 (ability) and -12 opp attack, min 8 (bonus)

- A solid 7 power, especially for the Montana clan.
- Decent 5 damage (7 with fury) that increases to 7-9 with his abillity (although that damage can't kill)
- With his Montana clan full of damage reducers (Spiaghi/ Ottavia) and bluffers, Donnie sports a swell time getting his revenge.
- Even without his ability, he still packs a punch
- Really really like his artwork. Great job artist

- Revenge makes him slightly predictable? Well, that is based on how obvious you want to play him. You can bluff with him, not play him when your opponent expects you to play him, and other sneaky stuff.
- Like all other Montana, SoB annoys him, although he can still function without it.

Overall: 8.5/10. Do not underestimate Donnie! He has a solid power, and even better, he opens up a lot of KO potential. If he only could do the magical 8 damage (being able to kill with Mona and Oscar), I'd love him even more, but that would probably make him overpowered. Still, he is a great card for the Montana clan.

um... just a comment..
on the 2nd lvl of this character, look closely at the money bag.
you can see a dollar sign.
but this character lives in Clintz City (I assumed) so shouldn't the money bag be marked with a Clintz sign?
just like his fellow Montana Gary?

Card Review:

I will not post what others have already mentioned

The Oracle and Slify are only part correct in saying that revenge is predictable (although Slify did mention that is depending on the player's style). I'm sure as it has been mentioned elsewhere in card reviews, revenge and courage are double edged swords. If the ability is predictable, then use it in an unpredictable way.

If you lost the previous round and you initiate the next round with Donnie, people would expect that you want to make the most use of him, i.e pill him quite a bit, so either they will counter pill, or choose a sacrifice. If you have another hard hitter in your hand, then Donnie can be used as a bluff, the game then becomes a gamble for both players. Conversely, as the ability makes Donnie predictable, you can play Donnie last, and win the game by the 3 rounds preceding Donnie (while the opponent still thinks your finishing card is Donnie), or you could play him without using his ability altogether which would be a little less predictable wouldn't you say?

However, it is very predictable when you have a hand with 3 damage reducers/ non-high damage dealing cards and Donnie, but that is the luck of the draw.

Doesn't his level 1 art look like level 1 Robb?
