Anesthetics are pointless. All you need to do is plug up your ears and ignore the patient's screams. Yet despite this simple, cheap and common sense approach, Dante is still having trouble building up a clientele. And since he became the Piranas' official on-board dentist, the crew has been religiously brushing their teeth at least five times a day…

After scouring the oceans of the globe for many a long year, Captain Bloodh's Piranas have finally cast anchor in town – time to stretch their legs out a bit and let their hair down! Noisy, aggressive and thieving (well, they are pirates after all), they’ve been quick to make enemies, and the odd friend. But all in all, they’re having such a good time, they’re in no hurry to head back to sea.

Dante - 6/2 with Confidence -3 opp life, min 3 (ability) and Sob (bonus)

- Handy life drainer that can get through damage reducers. In addition, a good number of SoA don't work on him thanks to his SoB.
- In fact, Dante deals a lot of damage for a 2* Pirana. They aren't known for extremely high damage.
- And he is only 2*, lets you budget in bigger beasts.

- Problem is that his ability his confidence, meaning he is a little more obvious, as well as situational.
- In addition, because his life drain has a relatively high min, he has to be played on round 2 or 3 for maximum usage.
- Also, his power isn't the greatest in the world.

Overall: 6.5/10 - Dante is a pretty decent 2* that can be fun ot use......but his flaws are glaring. Tula has damage close to Dante and Hawkins has pill manipulation. Even Spycee is a wall....Sorry Dante, you might not see much play

6/2 2*
Confidence: -3 opp life, min 3 (ability)
SOB (bonus)

- 2* is good for making room for larger starred cards like Dalhia
-.His ability insures his damage gets through without being harmed by a DR
- Including his ability his damage is very good for a 2*
-SOB is good for blocking attack/power manipulation

-6 power is not that great
-Confidence is very situational and can’t be played the first round

Overall: D+
Dante is one of the not as good 2* in Piranas I recommend Hawkins Hawkins Noel and Tula over him. I would not recommend using Dante unless you are just starting and need a cheap 2*.

The Piranas Crew Records
Entry - Dante, the dentist

Dante. *shudder* This man alone gives most of my crew nightmares. (if they don't have any from scubb or andsom) I hired Dante as the Piranas dentist, but he's become much more than that. Every Piranas fears his decennial (once every ten years) dental check-up. It only happens once a decade, but, believe me, Dante finds tooth decay in places that you know are completely clean. I'm beginning to suspect that he's insane, and relishes listening to his crew-mates scream. I have my doubts.

Dante is a Dentist... I hate him!

hawkins on board notebook

Name Dante

Dante is a pain in in the mouth! Really if you have a cavity or a tooth ache all I am saying is DO NOT go to him just ask mayhem to punch out the tooth that hurts. On my 13th day on board I started to have a cavity then I went to Dante because I did not know what he would be like. After I came out of the dentist room that day I made a vow that I would never go back there again. Trust me on this one Mayhem process is A LOT less painful even though it still hurts. One thing to reccomend BRUSH YOUR TEETH

Dante: 6/2; Confidence: -3 opp. life min 3 at level 2

-Overall, a mediocre 2* for Piranas that isn't played too much for good reasons
-While having the potential of becoming a virtual 6/7 (ability + fury) with SOB, this situation occurs rarely, as it is extremely conditional!
-For a card like Dante, Revenge would have been far more appropriate than Confidence, simply because you already need to win a previous round and thus use up pillz (most likely) just to activate his ability! It's pretty difficult for a 6 powered card to manage another win from there...
-Moreover, his already limited usefulness becomes obsolete in later rounds, due to his above average life drain minimum!

Nope! Thanks, but no thanks!

Are you kidding? The Piranas have some awesome 2*s already with Tula and Hawkins, and even Trey and Spycee work well with the clan. Dante, however, brings in yet another 6 power card with what seems to be the new thing for the card makers: high life reduction. It seems like the creators just like hosing the Piranas. Why, oh WHY won't they give us a damage reducer? Preferably a decent one, but at this point I think we'll take what we can get.
6/2 @ 2*
Confidence -3 opp life, min 3.
His ability brings his effective damage up to 5, which isn't too bad for a 2*. However, that's about it. He basically NEEDS to be played in the second or third round to be any use, and if you're just going to use him for a bluff, there are better Piranas to use.
Even Hawkins can be used defensively without his ability, but it's just too tough with Dante.
Unlike Kristen, a solid card w/ or w/o her ability, Dante relies solely on his ability. The rest of the Pirana 2*s do too, for the most part (though you can usually get around SoA) but Dante isn't simply weak to SoA. Confidence and revenge are good ideas, and they keep cards from being too powerful, just like Courage, Stop, etc. But they shouldn't be added to cards that are already only average, if not sub-par. I realize that with the extra pillz the Piranas bring in, they shouldn't rely so much on high power. But pillz can only get you so far. Dante is simply a disappointment.

~~Card review~~
~~Profile and stats~~
Name: Dante
Clan: Piranas
Power: 6
Damage: 2
Ability: Confidence: -3 Opp. Life, Min 3
Bonus: Stop Opp. Bonus

Positives: Great life removing ability
2 stars…yay!
If used in the right way, can do a lot of damage in relation with other 2 stars of the clan
SoB helps this card a lot
Decent power and damage

Negatives: Confidence based ability…damn it!
Besides, high minimum
Can be too predictable. So, be careful with cards with SoA as ability

Dante is a mediocre card. He’s too predictable, his life removing ability has a high minimum. These little things about him destroy the card. A really good thing about him is for him being a 2-star, and it’s a very offensive one, something nice to see in Piranas. Too bad he’s a fail to be something different AND good. Overall, just avoid him, and pick up any good pillz manipulation 2 stars, or Tula.

~~Final score~~
5,5 out of 10

it's funny if you see that he is a dentist without all his teeths! hahahaha smiley

dante is the ultimate evil dentist... well, he looks so, at least.
i mean, an apron(as in another comment) covered in blood?!

Thursday 24/02/2011, 17:54

Dante would've been so much better if he was a 7/2... a standard among all 2*
a virtual 7/5, and having a solid power of 7, makes it easier for him to hit his ability

but i'm guessing he is being balanced as a 2*
just look at Ector, he is a virtual 7/6... maybe it would've been unfair if Dante was 7/5
so all in all... Dante = 6/5 (2*), Ector = 7/6 (3*)
+1 power n' damage for an extra star smiley
