I´m sorry BlitzAssasin but I have to say some things about your comment. My comment was about the history of the harlequin which Harleen obviously is. The places where I say HE is because I am talking about the original harlequin´s that always were male. Just saying.

Harleen is a reference to harlequin or arlequino in Italian. Arliquino is a character in the comedia del arte tradition who is agile a bit of a trickster and always of the working class. Many of the original masks were black to indicate working in the coal mines, one of the dirtiest jobs that only the lowest class of people would submit to. He is often the lackey of pantalone. Originally he was quite talkative, after the French theatrical guild restricted speaking to just a few theaters the circuses were forced to have solely pantomimed acts. In this setting the higher class role was often taken by the ringmaster. The antics of the harlequin were often mocking the authority figure behind his back. That is the slightly longer version of the character's description that some people didn't understand.
