c Cherry

Released on Friday 22/04/11

In show-business, looks count. And the more lacking in talent a singer is, the more pleasing on the eye she needs to be! But with Cherry things couldn't have been more different. She started off as scrawny as she was shy. But by eating to overcome her nerves, she gained both the weight and the self-assurance she needed to put her firmly on the road to success.

First development of the 3 of this character’s different developments:

  • PussycatsCherrypicture
    3Ability unlocked at
    1-2 Opp Damage, Min 1
  • PussycatsCherrypicture
    7Ability unlocked at
    1-2 Opp Damage, Min 1
  • PussycatsCherrypicture
    8Heal 2 Max. 10
    2-2 Opp Damage, Min 1

Ability of Cherry:

Heal 2 Max. 10

If Cherry wins the round, at the end of each of the following rounds the player controlling Cherry will earn 2 Life point(s) if he/she has fewer than 10 Life points. If the player controlling Cherry has 10 life points or more, the Heal effect is not triggered.

-2 Opp Damage, Min 1

If Pussycats loses their fight, the Damage inflicted on Pussycats’s owner will be reduced by 2 points or up to a minimum of 1. If the winning character’s Damage points are lower than or equal to 1, then the Ability has no effect.

[NB: This comment is judging her within the ELO environment]

This card is a trap.

It seems good on paper. And it is actually good sometimes.
But most of the times, you have spent many pillz for 2 damage and maybe 2-4 life...
... IF you lose life enough to be under 10,
... IF you can lower your opponent down to 9 life or more!

I'm talking about ELO, of course. But with 14 starting HP, even if you get Cherry in on round 1,
the opponent is at 12 life, and there isn't a whole lot of chances that you'll get under 10 on round 2,
not even on round 3... It's ELO, many cards have low damage, many DRs around and you're playing Pussycats!
Plus a trend to gain life instead of dealing damage (heal cards, life drain, defeat life, +life, etc.)

So you have to deal another 2+ damage on round 2~4 (through the plenty SOAs, SOBs, DRs, Defeat Lifes, etc.), considering that winning a round is yet another round where Cherry's heal is useless, so you'd like to win that second round on round 3 or 4, ideally, which makes your further plays predictable (that is, your ideal EV - of course I expect you to use this "predictability" to bluff but that lowers your EV).

So yeah, you have a good card - strong stat, okay ability, nice bonus and all - that looks very good on paper!
But in reality (in ELO!) she is not very strong and I find myself bluffing with her (acting as a bad Wanda) most of the time.
When she gets through as a bluff, fine, she's the Best Thing in the World (tm), but otherwise - bad Wanda.

Buy her, try her, win and lose with her, and you will understand.
Not a bad card, but you will understand what I mean.

(PS: She is probably very fine in Type 1 though, with Yayoi to get these damage through and 12 starting life!)

* 3/1
** 7/1
*** 8/2 Unlock Ability
Ability: Heal 2. Max 10

-Cherry / Muze Mindgames =). Coupled with the Pussycats bonus and other DR's, it's more then likely game if you can pull both of their abilities off!
-Hello, Cherry/Freaks half decks. Speaking of Freaks, her ability counters their bonus fairly well.
-Like Muze, the ability has great synergy with her clan.
-She has plenty of muscle under that fat as you can't go wrong with the wonderful power of 8.
-3* enables her to squeeze her way into decks. Space doesn't matter to her apparently.
-As of this release, she has the second best heal ability.
-Unlike Eggman, if somehow poor Cherry falls on stage, there's always the Pussycats bonus which makes the damage not hurt as much.

-A Jellylike punch of 2 damage. It's understandable though because of her amazing power, nice ability, and great bonus.
-Her ability is more like insurance as you have to get it off early (round 1, or maybe round 2) & you have to be less then 10 health for it to kick in. Get that ability off fast as she becomes less and less useful as the rounds go by.
-SOA turns her into a 3* star Wanda. Keep it Away!
-Competition with Muze. Personally if I HAD to choose one or the other, I'm going with Muze. Most other people probably will as well.

Finally, a GOOD low star heal ability! I can see her being used alongside her or even as an replacement of Muze in case the art Lady ever gets banned. Of course, she's less effective during SOA weeks, but so is Muze. This is a step in the right direction for Mono-Pussycats; however, they are still in search of member with a great support ability.

Hey, guys, UR doesn't ALWAYS have to base a card on a person or thing. But Cherry being based on Susan Boyle isn't likely at all. Cherry is not only a good singer, but is supposed to be found attractive despite her weight (unlike Boyle, who's only saving Grace is her voice). As such, if she is based on anything, it would likely be the singer Beth Ditto from 'The Gossip' (otherwise known as 'Beth Ditto and those other guys'). She's renowned for being confident with her weight, and still being revered as sexy by many men (including, yours truely). On the Plus side (IT'S A PUN!), she's also a very nice person, here check out this interview:

~Eloxia Reviews~
Cherry 3* 8/2 Ability: Heal 2 min 10

♥- 8/2 is actually very good stats for her ability, her high power allows her to win more fights which will help with getting her ability along.
♥- Her bonus also helps a great deal, not only forbluffing, but also something you can fall back on if you still lose the fight.
♥- Since she has little competition since Muze is banned, she'll easily fit in most decks.
♥- She has great synergy with her clan, her ability fits extremely well with this defensive clan.
♥- I'm putting this with the pros, she's is a gorgeous card, which makes her much more fun to use.
♥- She's a great card for elo at the moment, since Clover, Clover Noel, and Muze are banned. This only leaves Naomi and Samia, and Jayzel as her competition.
♥-2 damage isn't great for offensive playing, however since you really shouldn't be playing her offensively, I wouldn't say it hurts her too much.
♥-SOA obviously, a common problem for most cards is having their ability removed, however even without an ability she's an 8/2 -2 opp damage min 1 which honestly isn't terrible.
♥- Her min on her ability is 10 which does mean you'll have to win with another card to have a chance at winning with her ability.

Overall I give Miss Cherry a whopping 9.5/10. I know you may think it's a little high, but she's a very balanced card, she does exactly what she was made to do, and honestly right now I think she would be a staple for any pussycat defensive half deck.

She is based from the singer, Beth Ditto.

Considering all these negative comments, Cherry certainly seems to be rolling in the deep.

Cherry is a solid choice for a 3* card in any Pussycats Deck.
If the max for her Heal 2 was a little bit bigger I would have nothing wrong with this card.
But as it stands she is great for a cheap deck

Thank god, Pussycat is now a playable mono-clan. The 3* category, which is where it has been weak historically is now stronger than many others, with Cherry, Muze and Noemi if another is needed. to go with the deadly Muze/Cherry mix we have Ivana, who is the most underpriced card in the game, and Ella. Then we have Yayoi, who is always and shall forever be fantastic. and the sparkling array of 5* least of all Charlie, my favourite card in the game.

Cherry herself is incredible,

8 power; always useful in the slightly weaker offensive side of Pussycats
Heal 2; the most useful thing ever in a damage reduction deck, even more useful than the previous +X life
Damage Reduction -2; a very useful failsafe, but it is always better to win with Cherry ;)
Common and 2 damage; many people underestimate a card with 2 damage, who is common, and will think it is a bluff, trust me, it happens.

2 Damage; never a good thing in the already damage weak Pussycats
SOA; like many good Pussycats SOA kills
No attack or power multipliers; like many other Pussycats, you will get outgunned by Rescue and Support: +X attack cards

Cherry = 9/10: This card is amazing and exactly what Pussycats needed to add themselves to the big name clans in mono-clan games. No longer is it necessary to use half deck Jungo, though don't get me wrong it still works, for healing. I digress, anyway UR has been unbelievably kind to Pussycats in its last few releases, with Selina, then Ivana, and now Cherry, so if you were ever going to play Pussycats now is the time!
