When Don wants to get rid of someone and be sure people know about it, he calls on Paolo. He can then be certain that not only will the unlucky individual be scattered into thousands of tiny pieces but also that everyone will hear about it and learn their lesson. And if innocent people get in the way, well that's all just part of the hazards of business.

"Family, honor, money and shady plans". The specter of the Montana motto creeps over the city. Having always had a firm footing in the world of crime, the Montana Godfathers have developed a pronounced taste for power. So now, under the iron rule of the formidable Don, their depraved and violent henchmen are all set to spread fear and terror in both the streets and corridors of power.

(Seeing as this card is new, I'll just throw the stats up here for those who don't have him)

Level 1: 3 Power, 1 Damage & Ability at lvl 3
Level 2: 4 Power, 2 Damage & Ability at lvl 3
Level 3: 7 Power, 3 Damage & Poison 1 minimum 3

I think what you guys are forgetting is that he's practically Ash from Rescue. Relatively the same bonus, just the abilities are opposite of another. What I'm trying to get at is that even though Ash didn't get much play in ELO, I can see Paolo getting a lot more play because of his clan. He's like a mini-Enzo.

As for his place in my deck:

Vs. Sharon? Definately not. Though the same against SOA, I'd rather have the raw damage than the poison. +1 Sharon

Vs. Mona? I'm sorry, but Mona's power reduction is much more appealing than posion. I suppose I MIGHT make the swap on a GHEIST/Roots week for him. + 1 Mona

Vs. Oscar? In a mono, no. Definately not. The potential 9 power is much better than a little poison. In a half deck? Make the switch. In perefect conditions, the 2-2 split, the'll both have the same power. The difference is is that Paolo doesn't rely on his ability to be playable. Tie, .5 each

Vs. Ottavia? Well... Ottavia is a bit more flexable than Paolo, so I'll give her the win. +1 Ottavia

Vs. Veccio? Yes, the potential 6 damage is really tempting, but Paolo can sorta match it turn 1. Also, with a higher power and better resistance to SOA, I'm gonna give this one to Paolo. +1

Vs. Milovan? Milovan is just a more solid Veccio with 2 life drain instead of support damage +1. He's the same in mono or split deck, unlike Veccio. However, Paolo beats this guy out for me. There's just no way Milovan can stand up to Paolo. Scratch another one for Paolo. +1

Final score: Paolo 2.5 - Everyone else- 3.5

He doesn't quite measure up to all his clan mates. The reason one would use this guy is because of his lack of dependancy to his bonus. As I said before, he'll see the most play on GHEIST/Roots weeks. I suppose the scores don't show it, but I can see this card has some good potential. Now for the Pros/Cons:

+ 7 power is pretty good for this clan. More specifically, for three stars. Avola & most other 5 stars only have 7 power or less (Save for Enzo, and I believe that's it.)

+ Poison is good on early turns. It makes his damage equivalent to 6 on turn 1 and 5 on turn 2 (For whatever reason you don't get any other cards through).

+ Walling potential. This guy (Along with Enzo) are in my deck for walling purposes. The reason people even *USE* Ash (Paolo's polar opposite) is because of his average power in the sub-par clan. His bonus definately helps, countering out Rescue's and beating all others out.

+ Lowish Minimum. Minimum 3 is pretty good. Same as the Freaks, just not quite as strong.

Which brings me to:

- Weak poison. Come on, one? There's not too much initiative to throw lots of pillz on this guy for the win.

- SOA hampers the already lowish damage of him. Of course, not really a con, because 7/3 is decent for a 3 star.

- Compitition. If you havent already, read the Paolo Vs. part of this comment. He's got a lot of compitition in the 3 star spot, coming in about 4th (Due to Oscar being better in mono)

Really, in the end, the card deserves about an 8. Great bonus, ok ability that isn't a neseccity, decent power. But it'll be a bit hard to choose him over some of the other 3 stars in the Montana.

People really didn't like Ash. When they made this card, they took him and turned him basically inside-out, with poison instead of heal. I suppose that he's a bit more practical than healing a measly 1 minimum 8. But as I've probably said numerous times, this guy is a mini-Enzo, made to wall & posion. He's no Mona, but he gets the job done.

Also, I'm sure someone already made this joke, but Paolo & Avola were made for each other. They've got explosive chemistry smiley

Probably already said, but he can 2 hit with the big man, Don if he wins on turn 2 and up. But then again, Sharon, Mona, Veccio, Milovan and Oscar (If I'm not mistaken) Can 2 hit on any 2 turns.

One of my first serious reviews, rate green if you'd like more.

You know what? His face in his last art reminds me of troll face.

See the resemblance?

Ok. This has gone TOO far. He is now worth less than Lino Borsa. LINO FRIGGIN BORSA!!!

I keep reading about how "awful" this card is. Yes, it's not the best, it's not an entire game changer, but because everyone keeps not wanting it, the price will drop to something afford to people just starting to flesh out their Montana clan. Which will be a godsend because most of the beginning montanas have dismal power and not too many abilities to help them actually win a match. So, yes, Paolo isn't all that great for people that have like 75% of the clan, but it could be an essential building block for beginners

Okay. I think I'll take it upon myself to write a review of Paolo. Who, I'm going to say straight out, is bad. I don't like him. And all those being lenient on him, I say you are wrong.

Ability: Poison 1, Min 3
Bonus: -12 Opp. Attack, Min. 8

-7 power is cool. Especially in Montana.
-3 damage is eh. For a 3 star with poison, anyways.
-Attack manipulation is handy dandy!
-No matter how small, poison always helps...

-Poison 1. Really? At least Enzo has 8 power and 5 damage, but Poison 1? Seriously, that's really bad. And a minimum of 3 is high.
-With only 3 damage by your side, poison won't do too much. Unless you win other rounds.

Big. Fat. Con. It's really not worth it. I've never ever seen a battle where Paolo's poison has helped someone win. Even if they get Paolo's poison in, I'm usually able to KO them or get them under 3 life. But, I guess, you could argue, that he's usable. I'm sure one day, you'll find that Paolo will help you win a match. But I'd rather not wait for that day to arrive...

Overall rating: 6/10
Not that great of a card. Usable, but not much so. And he's outclassed by other 3 stars in the clan. Oscar, Sharon, Ottavia, Mona. That's already 4 cards. Which means you won't need any more 3 stars, hopefully. And if you do use him, Godspeed.

Sharon still exists and is much better. Why did UR ever make this card anyway?

Saturday 15/10/2011, 08:35

Paolo has 1 less power then Enzo, 2 less damage, a slightly better ability and 2 less stars. Hes also like 1/30 the prce of Enzo, that ain't too bad is it?

The "Troll Face". #9gag

Wednesday 07/12/2011, 23:13

why is his 2-star form worth more than his max form?

Sunday 07/04/2013, 07:40

his not that bad I mean in the fact that he poisons the only orther montanas that poison are
Rosa-expensive and 4 eveloutition takes a while and and only 6 attack
Ivy-a stat down from Paolo
they arent that bad are they?

Wednesday 24/04/2013, 20:50

Not the best card, but I could see it selling for higher.

Clint City, night.
