u Raquel

Released on Friday 18/11/11

Being a girl skate-boarder is tough and being in the Bangers is certainly no easy ride. But being a girl skater with the Bangers is frankly attempting the impossible! But Raquel has developed a special fighting technique with her skateboard that she can switch from a means of transport to a lethal weapon and in doing so, has finally earned the respect she deserves.

First development of the 2 of this character’s different developments:

  • BangersRaquelpicture
    4Backlash: - 1 Pillz Min 4
    2Power +2
  • BangersRaquelpicture
    6Backlash: - 1 Pillz Min 4
    4Power +2

Ability of Raquel:

Backlash: - 1 Pillz Min 4

If Raquel wins the round, the number of Pillz of the player controlling Raquel will be reduced by 1, or up to a minimum of 4. If the number of Pillz of the player controlling Raquel is lower than or equal to 4, then the ability will have no effect.

Power +2

Bangers’s Power is increased by 2 points. (Remember: Power * Pillz = Attack)

"Wardog has no backlash"

Yeah? and how many players use Wardog, especially in their banger decks?

Just what i thought.....

You don't get it. I never said that Wardog replaces her in a Bangers deck. I never even called one better than the other.

As you can see, I quoted someone who asked why we're not going crazy. I gave him a short answer. A long one would be: because such stats and ability are not even close to being amazing.

Quexalblaze Reviews: Where strategies come together

Event Letter: Z

Card ==> Raquel

Categories Handled: Look, Power, Damage, Effectiveness, Compliments, Strategy

Look: Can't be sure if this is his/her first card but Royal Chu gives an excellent portrayal of that well known Bangers transformation that fans have come to adore. From cute and possibly innocent sixteen year old girl who loves skateboarding to a battle hardened urban Amazon woman that won't think twice about planting a certain object in a place where the sun doesn't shine. This card's artwork is good and as far as Bangers go, pretty classic.

Score: 9.5/10 (Because perfection simply doesn't exist)

Power & Damage: Though you could obviously see it above, this card's power and damage are:

Power: 6
Comparison(Equal): For a Bangers 2 star only other choices are Graff(SOA) and Bball(DR)
Comparison(Three*): Juicy Lord(DR), Garrik(Dam+3), Carlito(Protect Dam), Loocio(Pow+2)
Comparison(Four*): Chlora(SOB), Bubbles(Defeat:Return Pill 1/2), Blaaster Cr(Opp Pow -2)
Comparison(Five*): Angie(Pow = Pow), Lennox(Dam + 3)

Remark: For six damage on a 2* card and the bonus making it capable to hit the magic number (8) this is not a bad card
at all. The power is stable against clans such as All Stars and other power reduction up until 2 with no SOB. In her star tier
only Graff and Bball can compare and their uses are defined by their abilities. Against SOA the 2 damage they bring is
pitiful, while she in turn no longer has to worry about -1 pill.;-) Kevlaer is stronger with 7 power, but also only has 2 dam.
She also easily beats out BB Cool G, Laetitia, Massiv, Bennie, MC Decay, Meroo, Garrik, Kluwn, Kevin, Loocio, Sleam,
and Vermyn N. when matched up against SOA.

Damage: 4
Comparison(Equal*): Massiv and MC Decay
Comparison(Three*): Juicy Lord, Loocio, Tuned
Comparison(Four*): Shogunn(pre-ability)
Comparison(Five*): Non-existent

Remark: So as you can see compared to her own star tier, the only ones capable of matching the damage without boost are
Massiv and MC Decay. These two are next to useless if faced against (SOA and definitely all stops), while
Raquel can maintain a nice 8'4 or 6'4 respectively. Juicy Lord is better, Loocio is until(SOA) and tuned is useless.
Shogunn is godlike, until you run into SOA, but still can overpower them with 9 damage. These cards are however
higher than her star count and as a result, obstacles in Elo or T1 deck building.

Effectiveness: Situational
Remark: Her abilities are situational and her effectiveness is limited to the third and fourth rounds of play, as by this time
your pill count is destined to be low so fear of a -1 is now non-existent. She truly shines when you run into Roots,
GHEIST, or any opponent that pulls out an SOA against you. If it happens, it's basically a ticket to go for some
damage, or an invitation into a trap. Case in point...say...all GHEIST? That's damage, but Aigwon and all Skeelz?
That is most certainly a trap, especially if Jay, or chiara are skulking around.

Compliments/Supplements: If any of you are familiar with complementary angles and supplementary angles then bascially same concept, however we are talking about the 2HKO. The only character in Bangers that supplements this without fury is Angie. She can bring your opponent to a crippling 4 life points. If you managed to bluff the damage then you now have wild card advantage. This is the advantage gained when you have the ability to end the fight at a moments notice but have less pills than your opponent. Seeing as her ability is -1 pills with a min of 4, your opponent can assume that as long as you have
more than four you will pill to that number. A great bluff in those situations as they can't risk calling a bluff. Compliments can be found in a variety of Bangers if you fury with either them or Raquel, or just Raquel. For example:

Sleam + Raquel = Fury Raquel for 2HKO
Chlora + Raquel = Fury Raquel for 2HKO
(some card with six or more damage) + Raquel = Fury Raquel for 2HKO
Juicy Lord + Raquel = Fury Both (extremely hard to do)

Strategy is incorporated throughout, and I am running out of space so time to wrap this up.

6 damage with potential of 8
2 stars fits anywhere
SOA is helpless
Highly unpredictable
Any resulting tie as long as the other card is higher or she is played first will result in a win all the time. Eight damage makes this easier to accomplish.

4 damage is not to threatening
-1 pill if used early or not against SOA
Usually a stable third or fourth rounder
Predictable if at a disadvantage

Final Score: 8/10 (A great card for the surprise 2HKO and good against SOA, but SOA is not seen too often)

Battle Tip: Always pill one past the min if you use her. Opponent will expect only the minimum.

"Can someone tell me why no one is going crazy over this card? "

Wardog has no Backlash

So much bickering and arguing. This card enables me to use a Bangers and berserk deck with Norman and Raquel. I now can reach finish the backlash pillz missions with double the speed and chance!!

When it comes to Raquel I think people are missing the beauty of the card the cards only true flaw is its dependency on the clan bonus (Power +2). Everyone seems to assume that Raquel’s ability (Backlash: -1 Pill Min 4) is a weakness but it is actually a psychological advantage, it also makes her the perfect card to play against SOA cards.

4 years later and still only 2 Pillz Backlash cards: Norman and Raquel. Not complaining, though. it just makes their missions extremely difficult to do.

@Froony Just how the hell do you give 4 dmg for a 2* 6/10? :nosey:
