This is a thread to answer everyones questions about what happens with stop opp ability and stop opp bonus in the same round. Mods if you find that this guild is clear and helpful, please sticky. I was once a new player who asked this very question and i think having a stickied guide will be helpful.
For the following examples, assume that:
1. the room you are playing in is non-random
2. that neither person has played any pills
3. that all bonuses apply and are active
Take a look at the following round.
Otakool VS Flo
(ability) stop opp ability
(bonus) +8 to attack power
(ability) stop opp bonus
(bonus) -2 opp power
Who stops what? Does Otakools bonus get stopped?
The best way (and easiest i've been told, i forget from who) is this! Put all the abilities in a chain of what affects what. Use paper and a pen if you have to. The beginning of the chain is always the stop opp ability or stop opp bonus that has nothing affecting it. This is what the following round looks like in a chain.
(Otakools ability) Stop opp ability ----- (Flos ability) Stop opp bonus ----- (Otakools bonus) +8 attack power
Since nothing has stopped Otakools ability or affected it at all, Otakools ability follows thru and stops Flos ability. Otakool keeps the +8 attack power and wins the round.
Mods i would like to post 2 more slightly different examples but i have reached my character limit. I will wait till this thread gets approved
@calvin 0 does it matter, there is nothing left to stop
Also you can stop cards like sledg, every single skeelz, etc by using full stops
leviathon, spycee, shakra, glorg, etc
but you can't stop cards like caleaus using cards like jackie cr
in the battle ROLPH versus CLIFF.
(ability) -2 power
(bonus) stop opp ability
(ability) revenge stop ability
(bonus) support attack +3
Cliff is used after loosing a round therefore his ability revenge should kick in, but was canceled by Rolph Gheist stop ability. In addition, I suffered from -2 power. Looking at above example, I see multiple cases. Both bonus are not affected so which one starts first ? in the battle, Rolph bonus kicked in first before Cliff ability which I wanted to use to counterbalance gheist stop ability. If it does not work, I really do not understand the benefits of the ability stop opp ability from Cliff, it means it will always be canceled by Gheist ability to stop opposite ability ?
Battle Rolph vs Cliff
ability = -2 opp power. min 4
bonus = Stop opp ability
ability = Revenge: stop opp ability
bonus = support: attack +3
If cliff is used after a players loses with someone like Slyde or Steve Cliff's ability is active but because of Rolph's bonus Cliff's ability is canceled and Rolph brings Cliff's power down to 4 so against Rolph cliff's stats are 4/8
Rolph 7 power x 6 pillz = 42 attack
Cliff 4 power x 6 = 24 attack (rescue's bonus kicks in) 24 attack + 12 attack = 36 attack
Rolph = 42 attack
Cliff = 36 attack
Winner is Roplh and the player controling Cliff takes 6 damage
Does that mean that the stop ability is always more powerful than the ability of any character ?
Your opp bonus stop your ability so that cliff abilities wont activated even if you use cliff after you lost in previous round
Sirwest: No it is just that some characters have SoA with Conditions like Revenge or Courage
I was fighting Nahomi with Luba,
Both bonuses activatrd,why the hell the SOB ability didnt work?
Because luba is stop opp ABILITY (SOA)
not SOB barberis88
and then if you do mean SOA
nahomi has STOP: +3 power
if you hit nahomi with SOA
nahomi ability will activated (gain 3 power)
if you don't hit nahomi with SOA she will not get +3 power
hope that helps
