Today sees the launch of the Standard Format. This new format revolves around a list of characters that are updated every 6 months and only includes characters that were released less than 3 years before the current update (including Ld characters). Only these characters, Leader cards and characters from starter packs will be used in the Standard Format. To enable you to clearly distinguish between characters authorized in Standard Format and those which are not, we've added a special background to each character illustration, which you may have already noticed.

Happy gaming to you all!
For the first time in years, I actually didn't check out the new cards when they came out yesterday. Simply didn't care to.
The new overhaul is wrecking the fun.
Not sure how many have quite, but the numbers in the DTs have gone up by about a thousand, AFAICT. Where I was seeing 2500-4000 in most, it looks like 4-5000 is now the norm. I think it's brought out a lot of quiet players as well as some returning old guard who feel like they can get a fresh start on parity.
It seems the ones most upset at the change are the ones that facerolled through every DT with their Uppers/Montana decks for easy points and top DT finishes.
I think the idea of having the Standard format makes sense .. but I don't get the idea of Standard format having 40 star max limit .. that means people wanna have 8 five-* cards for maximum strength.. but many of the standard cards are less than four * and the most 4* or 5* stock is in the clans Berserk or Vortex ..
First this is not fair to the other clans .. Second this is just another restricted T2 and not a T1 replacement ..
So in all .. we have a restricted T2 (standard) .. extended (t2) .. DT extended (T2) and DT extended 25 (T1) ..
I think making the standard format to a max of 25* (or 26 or 27 maybee) .. can really help adding more challenge to the squad and some restriction that not all cards need to be 5* and 4* ..
I think it would make more sense to have Standard 25* room .. Extended .. and the DT 25 is good enough .. Please consider my suggestion seriously..
Don't kid yourself that people are interested in the new format, you just have to read a selection of the posts to see people don't like the new format.
Of course the real way to test would be to run the old formats and the new formats in parrellal and see what people play. I would guess if its for the same rewards you would see at least 80% of people in the old rooms
