Also, what is 'mana'? I see attack, power, damage, pillz, life, and this new thing called 'mana'. Could someone kindly explain what it is and how it works?

mana is essentially the same as pillz and life is called health in FaRi
There are no pillz in Fantasy Rivals, what pillz are in this game is what mana is in FR.
While I do agree that levelling up the characters shouldn't be made too easy, but with the current standing it simply kills the joy of playing the game. It takes 1000 gems to level up from Level 1 to 2, 1500 from Level 2 to 3, 2500 from Level 3 to 4, and a whopping 4000 gems from Level 5! And a win against the computer in the training mode only nets you 175 gems.
Considering the fact we are still in closed beta, setting such requirements really discourages most players from getting the full experience and playing out the game thoroughly to report bugs and such.
