It seems UR is starting to get its share of spammers that try to sell clintz/cards for real money. Real or fraudelent, but they should be gotten rid of.

How they work: They create new accounts and start spamming their advertisements immediately, to forums, to private messages etc.

Why it works? - Because the work from signup to be able to spam is really low.

How to fix this?

1) Disallow public/private messages and comments to anybody except friends until player has played 50 fights that did not end up in timeout.
2) Disallow friend requests from anybody who has less than 50 fights (but they can be still asked to be friends. it has to be initiated by someone else.)
2) Give boot to all the illegit advertisers IMMEDIATELY and without questions after verifying proof.

This way work to be able to spam becomes really hard (you pay in time to fight 50 fights) to be able to get 1 shot in spamming. That is counter-productive. Legit players get 50 fights quickly, so they really wont suffer at all. Its all about being able to stop repeated activity.

Problem is not the instant posting, its just the instant posting for level 1 players who just signed in. Spammers abuse "instant full post rights".

Even if they get banned almost instantly, they can re-roll another account in few minutes.

When posting rights are earned with effort then for spammers that becomes counter productive. 50 fights would mean either mandatory bot setup (takes time and managing) or flat out work. 50 fights = 2 hours = too time-costly to repeat constantly. For real players thats not even a nuisance since they need to do it only once.

I admit most of the comments are on the older cards AaaBattery, but, believe me,if i went on graffitti duty looking for spam posts, and general comments that have nothing to do with the card in particular, the moderators inbox would probably overflow with questionable comments lol smiley

All staff teams working on this problem and clean forum asap. It's harder with cards and events, but not impossible.
If you see something bad (anything) - don't hesistate to pm me.
Right now players need a patience with this problem. And be clever not doing what spammers/scammers ask.

I've noticed A LOT of scam/flood/trolling topics appearing on the forums, since the forum moderation function was updated.

Some players REALLY WANT to keep this the way its been.

Others want to go back to the old way to avoid these topics appearing.

Most, like myself, want BOTH of these things.

There's a very simple solution to this problem:

Simply enforce a level limit on players who are able to automatically post.

Lower levels should be screened by a Moderator (much like the old way)

I suggest we start with a limit of level 20, this can change based on whether this solves the problem or not.

I've closed and reported MANY of these scam threads and they are ALL created by players under level 5.

(I originally posted this in Staff Announcement Forum, to deal with the automatic topic/comment acceptance issue. In order to solve the PM abuse, a similar sort of level enforcement could also be applied)

Caveat of screening is this:

Moderators cant screen private messages. Or is big brother strong in here?
