So I'm playing some casual standard DT's with a strange but pretty ok deck.

That last one didn't "catch" a 37 points win which would've had me 3rd.
Most of the time I make a lot of mistakes and stupid plays, but mostly lose to newbies and weak hands since I can't predict them. I also tend to go 4 rounds more than it's wise. I beat Sentinel, Uppers, Hurracan, Frozn, Junkz, Berserk and Junta pretty consistently, and well, I'm not terrible I guess since I keep placing around the top 10. With less mistakes I'd be top 5 pretty much every time. Most of the guys above me are a win or so away.
But the leader ALWAYS has about 100-150+ on me. It's making me feel like I'm sh*t and shouldn't even be playing this game. What in the world are the guys who are winning so hard playing? I can't tweak the deck further, and I don't have to - I only lose to myself pretty much. But if there's an even stupider deck out there I'm really curious about what is it...
But Mechakolos is fine if I understand correctly?
I'm not incredibly fond of 1hko cards in DT, with Mechakolos; you mighn't always get reprisal on the first round- and if you get it on the 2nd and win you get 21-23 points, I believe and a 2hko can award 27-29.
Big difference for a game that should take about 2 minutes.
IDK, I can't seem to get anywhere in DT'S without Mechakolos. Anyway, I'm done for a while, here's the deck:
Any other variation didn't work out well, except I managed stuff wtih rudy. I made tons of mistakes, but it generally rolled anything in the current meta. I've tried stuff with Draheera instead of Gork, Luba instead of Stalfhaust and Mok instead of Plunk and there's a killer deck in there somewhere I'm sure. I held the lead for half an hour 3 times, but at some point DT winners just overtake me sharply (I run into a series of defeats, it could be fatigue or smt.)
In my clumsy hands it's a 600-630 deck. I'm pretty sure someone who's actually decent at the game could win a tourny with it. Sentinel rolls over to SoA unless they draw the 7/7 guy, La Junta can sort of be predicted, Vortex dies to SoA and so forth.
Plunk's a good splash, Stalfhaust is not very good, Ksendra and Elke don't KO well with the rest of the deck and Hrigher is Meh. Gork is really good, Mechakolos makes people play stupidly (or kills them). I'm really curious about a new release for Gheist.
The Deck has a big problem in that I ussually take it to 4 rounds and only win 2. I win pretty consistenly (or rather the deck wins, I lose stupidly). I've seen a guy win with something like this today, I think, so it's deffinitely possible.
Its all about the 2hko. you get a load of points and if you pick a clan(s) with attack/power manipulation it kind of plays itself. Either that or a low star deck where the objective is to win 3/4 rounds and pick up 30-40 points every win.
I prefer 2hko w/ ambre. Pretty much ends the game real quick.
