The reality of most games is that in order to get rich quick... you can simply spend real money and buy all the packs you need until you are content with your collection. Easy enough.
The reality for a lot of players is they do not have to funds to be spending a lot (or any money) on a game. No worries though, the gap between people who spend lots of money vs those who spend very little is big only when it comes to UR wealth, but when it comes to gameplay the difference is more than manageable
To give you an idea of how much credits the "veteran" credit using players are using in order to maintain their collection I'll share my personal experience. I am currently at 98% of the collection. The 2% is always the newest cards (12-15 of them) that i dont buy until they are much cheaper. I invest in a few cheaper cards here and there, but for the most part i earn clintz from packs and playing ELO/DT in weeks i am active. And i am able to maintain 98% using anywhere from 60-100 credits every 2 weeks.
If you do are an active player and can afford to buy credits once in a while, then eventually you will see your collection grow, allowing you to play competitively in every format and nearly all events.
However, if you are an active player buy have no funds then you may want some tips on how to earn clintz and credits as fast as possible

Free stuff:
Do the free credit offers that are available to you. This is a quick way to earn credits, but they are not reliable
Play the slot machine each time you have 3 tickets - getting 10 clintz per ticket is a good return
Get a decent deck as soon as possible. A DT deck will be the foundation of your collection. Competitive and winning DT decks can be made for 5k or so. Have a deck in mind and make sure that your focus is on acquiring this deck as soon as possible. Once you have a decent DT deck then you are well on your way
every DT you play have these benchmarks in mind
1 game (1 minute to 5 minutes) - 50 clintz prize -
top 1/3 of the DT - 100-120 points in a DT (10 - 35 minutes of time)- 50 clintz + 1 credit
top 150 (45 minutes to 1 hour) - 250 points should be enough in most DTs, sometimes more, sometimes less - clintz + 1 credit + small chance for Cr
once you are cracking top 150 easily, it is time to start thinking of top 50/25/10/5/win. Once you can crack top 10 consistently, the clintz roll in.
Do solo mission ASAP - the clintz/credit/card prizes helps. the earlier the better.
ELO - play it in non DT hours - use your DT deck as the foundation for your ELO (decent elo decks can be made for 6k-10k)
ELO benchmarks for the week. Figure out what the goal is for the week and play to that goal
stay above 1000 after 5 games - clintz plus 2 credits.
1200 - clintz plus 5 credits
1300 - clintz plus 10 credits
top 100 - clintz plus 10 credits + chance at Cr
small steps at a time here.... once you crack 1200 a few times it gets easier, start aiming for 1300. Once 1300 is easy, the 10 credits weekly is a nice income.
Survivor non DT hours - Survivor is a tough place to make clintz especially with cheap decks... but if you have met your ELO target for the week... even small win streaks pay out more than just playing in other rooms. If you get a big streak... you may also win credits!
Make friends and join a guild. Those guild bonuses will help you earn more clintz and lotto tickets.... they will help you if you are strapped for clintz. And friends may let you borrow certain cards, allowing you to complete certain missions (and collect more prizes)
Unlock the market ASAP
you do not want to be selling to kate if you want clintz
unlocking the market also allows you to play the market which is a solid source of income. buy low, sell higher, 0xp cards generally can be resold for higher than the minimum
Credits. Spend your credits wisely. This is the key to earning clintz. Buy on the day that New Bloods are released. Sell the newest cards as soon as possible. If the releases are weak and cheaper cards, don't use your credits. Save it. Continue to hoard credits till an expensive card is released. Once an expensive card is released (35k+) buy new blood packs and hope you get lucky
Im sure ive missed a few tips but here is a summary:

Wow, kinda amazing how a dude whose name literally translates to "spending time near me is pointless" ends up creating something not worthless. Oh, and you forgot something as well: getting all the 250-win missions done before the 500-win ones is reccomended, as the ctz, credits, and cards stack up. Also, when you do them, try to incorperate characters who have missions into your deck (ie: use Gork, Rolph, and Toro while doing the GHEIST win missions).

Great advice. another tip for the players who want to brake into the market, buy in bulk when the prices are low then sell your cards slowly in blocks of 3-4. this ways if it goes up you make more and more, and if it goes down you can save your over-head for when the market for that card rebounds.
another thing about buying in bulk is the meesage boards have a trade/sell/buy forum. an more often then not you might be able to get a deal when buying cards in bulk.
and remember its all about return, dont try to sell your cards too much, remember how much you bought them for then sell them for a moderate profit, some times (new blood cards expecially) you can double your money or better, but usually a good return is 30-40% of what you paid for.
here is an example using all 3 principals i explain.
say you buy 30 Bubbles. right now he is high on the new blood pack list. and is selling for 420-ish clintz. lets do the match. 30x420= 12.6k
now if you wait a few weeks for him to go down the list or be removed from the new blood packs, his price will like resemble similar cards from other clans, my example of this is Eebiza, she is at about 2k.

Lets say you want to start selling them when Bubbles reaches 1000 clints. that is a 250% return already. you sell them in blocks of 4. 4000 + 4000+ ect... but lets take into account the time it takes to sell them, as the time passes (because stock is being bought but not supplied by the new blood packs) the price will increase day by day. lets add in 50 clints per card each batch.
4000+4200+4400+4600 and so on. after selling 12 of the cards you bought at 420 at 1000 or more you made have 17.2k thats a 4.8k return on your original investment. the following 18 cards are pure profit.
and one last little bit of advice, do not sell new blood cards the day they come out unless they are the newest ones for a high price. the cards which people dont want to keep will always drop in cost for about 3-5 days after New Bloods come out. the influx of new stock with no growing demand makes the prices drop. wait a week for start selling the cards from the new blood list. (unless its the newest one) hope this helps.

but the hoarding tactic is not something poor players can really do though... they are better off buying and selling immediately. if they have that much clintz... they are better off building that deck they need and racking up clintz and credits in DTs/ELO/Survivors.
