I'm fairly new to this game but I enjoy the meta game.
I decided that with a list of deck types and the help of the community,
I can facilitate the learning curb and find more balanced strategies.
Also I want to focus on non-random, type 1, elo
Deck type: Poison Stall
Card types: 1-2 [poisoners], 2 [walls], 2 [DR], 1-2 [Life Gainers]
Strategy: Poison opponent or force them to overpill, then hit with life gain/drain and block.
Example: Jautya, Corrina (2*), sigma, Uranus, chiara, Praxie, Corvus, Redra
Deck type: Heavy hitters
Card types: 5-6 [2HKO'ers], 1-2 [low * DRs]
Strategy: be very unpredictable with pills because of numerous threats, plan is to 2hko (note sob is must)
Example: elya, Kati, Linda, Macumba, marlysa, Sakazuki, Windy Mor, Xia Leming
side note: the second example is random, I don't presume to know all the strats, tactics
You misunderstand. I don't have any of those cards;
I just chose a random public preset with an easy strat to identify.
Perhaps it is a bad example though.
What i'm looking for is help from the community to make a list
of popular or working elo deck types so I have a better idea of whats out
there when constructing an elo deck. The idea is to analyze the type
of cards in a deck then explain the plan(s) in a sentence or two. Without
a strong emphsis on what cards are in the deck, if that makes any sense
I'll join then. Here's one; I call it, "Mobster Trolling".
Strat (if there is one), use Montanas with Hugo to make people hate you for playing a troll clan.
Same effect can be achived with All Stars, Nightmare, GHEIST, Rescue and any other clan that has a powerhouse card banned 98% of the time.
Dude really u can make ur deck an offensive deck or a defensive deck ir eckon....of course which oneu pic depends on ur playing style
If u like to end matches quickly then go for an offensive deck
ie: clans like Fang Pi, La Junta, Bangers, Ulu Watu
IF ud rather sit bac and make ur opp think every round then go for a defensive deck
ie: clans like Skeelz, Piranas, Jungo
Of course theres branches in each of these two types but they r the main 'types' of decks so to speak
A general list of strategies I've found in the game:
Defensive decks all follow the same trope, Life Separation. There are several ways to do this:
2) Life Gain
3) Damage Reduction/SoA/SoB
Any combination of the three can produce the desired results. The general strategy of a defensive deck is just controlling the flow of damage, by reducing card's damage through DR or SoA where appropriate, and landing your damage where it counts (often by denying a high damage card from your opponent). Defensive decks win through maintaining a good amount of life separation. Some defensive decks can with the round on the first turn with a single furious card, such as Pussycats with Dithya.
KO decks contain a large amount of cards that can dish out 2 hit KOs with one another. While the strategy itself seems straightforward the tricky aspect of the deck is making your opponent predict the KO. Landing an early Emestath in a La Junta deck, for instance, forces your opponent to be on the look out for a second hit for the rest of the game.
Finally, probably the most common type of deck in ELO is a balanced deck. The goal of a balanced deck is flexibility. A balanced deck can be played both defensively or offensively depending on the strategy chosen by the opponent or the specific cards drawn. It can with through life separation or KO. These decks contain cards of both the offensive and defensive variety. These decks tend to go furthest in ELO due to their adaptability.
