And by the way, what does "If you want to be able to use the private messaging feature of the chat, you must register your nickname once and identify yourself each time you come to the chat.
Here are the commands that you must type to do that:
/ns register apassword
%u2192 you just need to do it the first time and you are not forced to use the "game" password
