I thought for sure Jaxx would be next. I'm never going to get to get him

So, I completed the first mission and got the rewards for it. But the game client didn't register it and still showed 59/60 damage dealt and didn't progress for the second mission, even though it was legally open, before I reloaded the game client. Is this intentional that it needs to be reloaded inbetween missions or just a bug caused by my horrible connection?
