Rotation of the Standard format will take place on Monday, October 1st at 11am (GMT + 2:00). Only cards released after October 2nd 2009 will be valid in Standard format, while cards released before this date will now only be playable in Extended format. The next Standard format rotation will take place on April 1st 2013. Below is a list of the characters excluded from Standard mode: All Stars Asporov El Gringo Cesare
Well, this was bound to happen. Standard will keep forcing players to renew their decks. Might be a good thing in some respects, but personally i still long for extended25 like mrinvisible...
perhaps if there was standard25 there would be more reasons to play standard since it would make it more interesting rather than having to go against to all those scary 5 star standard cards...

Some players seem to be a bit confused so I will help.
They are not banning characters as such e.g they havent gone lets ban all the Skeelz to stop Skeelz. They are removing a lot of Skeelz from standard because they have become too old to be in standard. Clans like Vortex are still new enuth to stay in standard but when they get old enuth they will also lose a load of characters from standard.
I Don`t think, Standard is bad. It removes overpowered cards a lot. But almost unable to find opponents. You need to increase award to players, who play Standard.
Maybe if standard was based on removing cards that were over powered you'd have people playing it. But standard doesn't remove cards based on if they're over powered or not. Standard removes cards based on age. Hence why so few bother playing it, and why you can't find opponents. And they'd have to offer a hell of a bribe to change that.
I'm not sure why everyone is surprised or angry about Skeelz. This is a format where cards cycle off based on release dates, and right after the Skeelz got released they got a crap load of cards. So of course, when the first wave cycles out a lot of stuff is going to leave.
The exact same thing is going to happen to Berserks and Frozn given enough time.
That given enough time is the kicker though. It really does appear that Standard is a failed experiment. UR is going to have to find ways to encourage players to jump in or just scrap it all together.
