Veterans are well aware that we have always wanted the ELO to be both a highly strategic and very open game mode. Our desire to have as many strategic options as possible has lead us to revise the ELO mode rules several times. First of all, we created the list of banned characters gathering those who appeared to be most abused. This list enabled us to solve the main balance issues.
Next, however, the metagame gradually crystallized around the two or three dominant clans at the time. In order to prevent the metagame from stagnating, we then introduced a ban on the clan having dominated the previous week. Unfortunately, this course of action did not work as well as we had hoped. Though it provided a certain variety among the clans used to play, it mostly led up to a very negative feature: the "cycling" phenomenon that we are currently experiencing between Roots and Sentinel (and also All Stars for good measure). In addition, the ban of an entire clan is too drastic an initiative.

cards tendencies are now hidden.
The votes are now closed on Sunday 20:00 (GMT+1)
Votes allocation has changed too :
1050 -1099 = 1 vote
1100 -1149 = 2 vote
1150- 1199 = 3 vote
1200- 1249 = 4 vote
1250- 1299 = 5 vote
1300- 1349 = 6 vote
1350- 1399 = 7 vote
1400- 1449 = 8 vote
1450 -1499 = 9 vote
1500+ = 10 vote

It gives me great pleasure to introdue our newest moderator, LOA Daigon

With is ever present "greets" Daigon brings with him quite a bit of knowledge to the team so don't be afraid to ask him questions. With the usual exceptions of course:

-Do not ask to become a Mod. It pretty much ensures you won't be one.
-No, there is no set criteria for picking a moderator. We'll know it when we see it.
-New moderators are named as the need arises so there is no time table for how often.
-No, he can't give you free stuff.

There have been several reports of attempted scamming lately. Anyone asking for your password is trying to rob you. This cannot be emphasized enough. Here are a couple of scamming methods to watch out for...

Scam:
I am a moderator. I need your password so I can inspect / add something to(cards, clintz, credits) your account.

Reality:
NO ONE on the Urban Rivals staff will ever ask for your password. If something needs to be added to your account, the Admins do not need your password to do so. The same applies if your account needs to be checked for activity of any kind.

Scam:
Take this survey and we'll give you free credits/clintz/cards. Just give us your account name and password so we know where to put them.

Reality:
No website that offers free credits/clintz/cards is sponsored by Urban Rivals. If you see an offer like this, it is almost certainly a scam.

Again, do not, for any reason, give your password to anyone.

Recent months have been challenging for the Fang Pi Clang proving it difficult to keep up against its rivals. Now, however, with Sung Tsu and Chan's appearances, the clan is regaining strength and once more ready to go into attack.

Well everyone, it's been a fun year and a half serving as the American Admin. But I always knew this isn't what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I've gotten an opportunity to pursue my writing career and it's simply going to leave me too busy to help handle things around here.

I can't say what I'll be doing as I'm under an NDA, but when my project is done, I'll be a published writer. Which has always been my dream. It might not be in the exact way I wanted it, but I can write novels later.

I will be staying on as a moderator, but I won't be as active as I'll be devoting my time to other projects.

I have really enjoyed my time here working and playing UR with you all. Time permitting I'll pop back in for a DT or a few games of ELO here and there. I leave as of March 31st.

I wish you all the best of luck, I will miss you. I of course cannot pass on the mantle of perfection, because well, no one is perfect like me. I am also keeping my owl. It's my owl. It's still watching you. And it's not creepy like some certain money stacks in a commercial.
