As for the argument between DT penalty points and DM noob bonus points, idk if I can explain it any simpler than this:<br />
- a lower level opp going against a higher leveled opp. Nothing to lose, a little more to gain than his opponent.<br />
- If this were a DT, this would be considered a hand with 0 <a href="http://www.urban-rivals.com/game/rules.php?show=elo">elo</a> banned cards.<br />
- However this &amp;quot;0 <a href="http://www.urban-rivals.com/game/rules.php?show=elo">elo</a> banned hand&amp;quot; will happen more often than for a player in a DT with even just 1 <a href="http://www.urban-rivals.com/game/rules.php?show=elo">elo</a> banned card in his deck (within a 20 minute period).<br />

TBH, I don't know what to make of this, I haven't really been paying attention through a whole DT trying to find out how many points I lost due to the -2 point penalty but I just know giving low level player an advantage is ridiculous. If they feel good enough to step into the room with veteran players, then they should all be on the same playing field as everybody else. but there is a huge difference between winning streaks and persecution. if you win against different opponents it's justified to get a bonus because that's something not easy to do, there is even a mode based around it (survivor)<br />

Persecution means that if you keep beating someone, then you are certainly better than him, so you get less points etc.. Keep the scores tight. The general idea is that if you are better than your opps, you need to work a bit more, you get an handicap.<br />

It will never be fully balanced unless everyone plays the same deck. -2 points in a ~20 pts avg to counter balance a clear advantage of using specific cards in a more oriented toward &amp;quot;serious&amp;quot; competition is not the same as -2 points (since it changed from -5 to -2 like one month ago) for a 40-70 pts per win avg in a mode oriented toward fun.<br />

I really think you guys did a great job with this new system<br />
I'm playing an old <a class="clanLink clanID_10" href="/characters/list.php?show=10">Ulu Watu</a> / <a class="clanLink clanID_28" href="/characters/list.php?show=28">Uppers</a> DT deck, which (after the new rules where imposed) is useless in DT's nowadays<br />
It slaughters in <a href="http://www.urban-rivals.com/game/rules.php?show=survivor">Survivor</a> and Deathmatch mode<br />
<br />
I think the true strength of Deathmatch is the fact you can use any and all cards, without restriction in a fast and furious 20 minutes of Rivals...<br />
and I think that if the no opponnent found problem is solved, the game will be more enjoyable<br />
but hey, that's what a beta version is for right??<br />

With a small pool of players, you may have problems with availability of opp, exactly as it would be if you are 2 players on a 16 players map of an FPS. The QB system will always try to find a fresh opponent for you, but after 30sec, if no new opponents are available, it will allow the last opp to be played again. Either we have a bigger pool, but it's lessen the spirit of the DM (revenge/persecution etc..), or we live with thoses issues (wich become less a problem when more and more players goes into DM). <br />

Apart from not being able to find an opponent, I actually had the problem where the quick fight option put me against the same person maybe 5 times out of 6. (He was a new player with weaker cards, so they actually started taking points off my score at the end, a &amp;quot;persecution&amp;quot; deduction, which was actually pretty good to stop high level players just bullying new players for easy points.) I like God of Demons idea, where you sign up for the deathmatch tournament, and play a pre-set amount of games. Maybe they could drop the player number down, and every person in the room plays everyone else once?<br />
