1. Why haven't Admin said anything regarding this situation. With every previous change they've gone out of their way to dialogue with the community about the changes but we're up to 765 posts without a peep on the issue. I know that they messed up with the original message, I'm guessing things kind of snowballed and the language barrier probably posed problems, but still nothing?

2. Why doesn't UR have a test room. Nearly every online game I've played has an open test server that the community is free to go on and test out changes. It wouldn't have to be much, one room, no prizes or anything so it wouldn't draw too many members from the rest of the rooms, but it would allow people to test out these changes instead of inciting wild conclusions about the state of the game after they're implemented. Think how much smoother the 15 life change in ELO would have gone if that could have been ironed out in 2 weeks in the test room. People could go into the test room and we could see if the selection of cards is as limiting as it seems to be or if it really is a decent change that will actually provide variety.

http://www.urban-rivals.com/community/forum/?mode=viewsubject&id_subject=2045824&language=2

no-reply@urban-rivals.com (Endymio_DvF)

http://www.urban-rivals.com/community/forum/?mode=viewsubject&id_subject=2045824&language=2

XCap Wild

Elo survives because of the credit handout. We are all here hoping to make the game better so there is no reason to attack anyone.

For my part, I don't really care as long as I can continue to play the other formats. I will give standard a chance but if it is lame, un-fun and lacks variety then I will just play something else. The only real issue is whether the other formats will be eliminated.

My hope is that the T1 issue may be settled since there doesn't seem to be a single player anywhere who thinks that getting rid of all T1 rooms is a good idea. The format that is really being threatened is elo- primarily because that format gets the majority of the prize support. UR likely wants to introduce Standard as the most heavily supported format which will push elo out of its favored position.
The most common thing I see over and over again are GHEIST and Piranas mono.
Piranas mono hasn't felt overpowered to me for a long, long time. They're a well-rounded clan but they lack serious gap power.
All-Stars eat them alive, heavy attack manip clans can 3-round them if they're not careful, Skeelz, Piranas, and Nightmare all have at least a slight edge over them...
we ALL have insufficient information. Those who are saying this is 100% bad is as loopy as those who are saying this is 100% good. The reality is we simply do not know. We have ideas... but without the game actually going through the changes we simply are not certain. People can Cherry pick statistics all they want but it will prove nothing except that we are good at having ideas then finding statistics to back it up after the fact -- which is a fallacy.

There is only 1 statistic (maybe 2) that matters. The first is UR's revenue. The 2nd is arguably player activity. The first is easy, UR knows how much money they pull in on a day to day basis. The 2nd is a bit trickier, amount of games + forum activity + chat activity + market transactions + private message use are all indicators of activity.

It is the interest of UR to raise the revenue... which is likely to be a result of a raise in player activity

We DO NOT know UR's current financial situation. Is this a game that is dying that needs a change in the hopes of gaining new players? Is this a game that is pretty stagnant with the amount of players and needs a change in hopes of boosting numbers? Or is this a growing game that is doing very well and getting more popular and is implementing a risky change in the hopes of becoming more popular? NONE of us here know this. Without this information we CANNOT understand the rational for the proposed changes.

We can also look back at the big changes that UR has implemented in the past. I have been around for a couple of them, but i definitely was not around for a lot of them either.

What impact did past changes have on UR's revenue and player activity???? Again we do not know this. If the past track record shows that it has lead to a drop in both, the UR is treading on dangerous waters here. If the past changes have lead to an increase in revenue and activity, then UR is thinking this is a safe plan.... which may turn out to be the wrong decision.

we do not know. for someone to claim 100% certainty without knowing the numbers is shooting in the dark

UR needs revenue. When decisions like this can potentially impact their revenue, i guarantee there is at least 1 staff member who looked into their financial records much deeper than we care to imagine.

anyone else still want to claim certainty with incomplete information??? go right ahead.

http://www.urban-rivals.com/community/forum/?mode=viewsubject&id_subject=2045824&language=2

no-reply@urban-rivals.com (wasteroftime)

http://www.urban-rivals.com/community/forum/?mode=viewsubject&id_subject=2045824&language=2
