My guess is the majority of people who are voting against having stats changed are people who don't even play ELO mode but play regular and don't want their powerful regular cards getting weakened so that the ELO players have more options. Its a shame it looks like ELO mode is going to suffer because regular mode is more popular, but I understand their point of view, they spent alot of money on those cards, they don't ELO so they don't care if they're banned there, they just want them to continue to be ridiculously amazing in regular.
I understand the developers problems here as well. It cost money to commission art and to have staff to administer the database and so forth (so thats why you wouldn't want such a huge collection in the 1000's), but on the other hand this is a collector card game -- and even if it wasn't designed to be a collector card game originally, it is now.

Like most projects certain things happen that you simply have to accept and work with, not against. So I think instead of working against the older stats cards -- that no longer fit into the plan -- you should work with them and modify the plan to fit the cards.
1) Keep unevolved cards in ELO mode. Strategy is strategy, to UNLOCK the card's powers is an Urban Rivals saying; There are decks that revolve around unevolved cards which premmy players (market users) often play and dominate the ELO rankings. If you want to be a contender in this game, you should commit to it and buy credits at the shop. This is my honest opinion, because the growth as a player is greatly excelled once you buy credits and play the Market. Like a saying before, there are 2 kinds of players in Urban; The ELO player and the Market Player. A Great player is both.

2) For people who have spend tons of credits to buy that CR card that suddenly becomes a weaker version of it's original state is unacceptable and sad. Keep the cards in the collection w/o changes; When UR releases new cards, I trust them not to make a Skullclamp; ex) I would like to make Tanaereva into a CR card yet still legal in ELO, then make a new weaker Tanaereva. It sounds to me like they're asking to tweek over powered cards so that they don't have to be banned, not just lifting the ban altogether and not giving cards 2 sets of stats. In card games involving real cards erratas are looked down on, too much to memorize, so ban lists are enforced, but for an online game where stats can be changed with out confusion tweaking cards so they are more balanced makes alot more sense. Personally I hate getting cards that are banned, I'd much rather they simply be balanced and that I'd be allowed to use them, it would give alot more options for ELO play.
I will also add though that I've always felt and agree that non-fully evolved cards should not be allowed in elo play or should count as their max level when determining total elo level count.

http://www.urban-rivals.com/community/forum/?mode=viewsubject&id_subject=59778&language=2

no-reply@urban-rivals.com (DanTheTimid)

http://www.urban-rivals.com/community/forum/?mode=viewsubject&id_subject=59778&language=2

YoPhoenix

Pfoe, took me a while to read all the reactions, but now it's time to give my (balanced) opinion.
Some cards are too strong, but mostly it are not the collectors, but the cards like tanae and wee,
We have to understand that banning cards means a more balanced game, a more creative game (as we have to find nice combinations rather than using UBER cards), a more FUN game. We all have cards that will be made useless while banned (and I say while because cards do not remain banned forever; with new additions/changes they may return in active play), and personally I have most of the already banned ones, but I prefer having paid for a good card that got banned rather than having to pay in order to buy the imbalanced cards in order to make an imbalanced deck and have a chance to play (and win).
First of all banning cards is neither ridiculous nor avoidable: it is necessery. In an evolving TCG as Urban Rivals, with new cards being published each week, it is inevitable that some of the cards are imbalanced or make other cards imbalanced when in combination with them. No amount of planning from the creators can prevent this; and especially in Urban Rivals where we have new additions many times a month, I would say that the creators are doing a terrific job keeping the game balanced with so few in number banned cards as there are now. In other TCGs in order to avoid imbalancies they publish new card sets every one/two months and quite often permit play of only the most recent cards in tournaments, just to keep those overpowered combinations at bay. Do you prefer that from banned cards?
