I've been rolling with this: Piranha - Mono Elo . And failing. Miserably.
It's probably just due to my noobishness, but, from the point of view of different players, how do you counter each card of the deck?
I just want to improve.
Piranas are a strong clan, but they're not everyone's clan. (They sure aren't mine!) They're conductive to a very mind-gamey, intimidation based style of play. If that's not how you usually play, try a deck with more brute force, or DR, or loads of attack manip...
That aside, if you want to keep playing Piranas, consider a less top-heavy deck. You have a lot of possible draws that leave you with bad damage. Although you can still win with a hand like Hawkins/Scubb/Tula/Taljion, getting read in the first round could completely ruin you. Defeat and DR cards may pose a serious problem as well. Think about replacing Selma with Raeth and Puff with Tyd for a much less draw-dependent version of this deck.
1300 easily doable with them but their usefulness of course depends on the currently popular decks
- no decent soa
- no dr
- bad against dr, with the exception of ector
- lowish natural dmg
- games often won by winning against cards which matter or winning 3 rounds
What i prefer :
Scubb is a good card, but you don't have a lot of control (you pill & hope you get it somewhat right, if so, big advantage, if not big disadvantage because of the low power)
I am no longer a fan of Puff, sure it wins rounds, but you don't have a big hitter to make 2 rounds enough, and just not that threatening. It is very safe to pill 1 or 2 against puff and see what happen (either land a decent hit against you or you overpill Puff for a lowly 2 damage)
There is nothing wrong with that deck. Basicly most piranas mono deck contains:
3x2* - Tula, Hawkins and Puff
1x3* - Taljion
1x4* - Scubb
That leaves space for 1x3* (Tyd or Ector), 1x4* (Raeth or Coleridge) and 1x5* (Selma or Dahlia).
There is no wrong choice. It's just matter of practice and experience.
