U must be a higher level or your monster guy what ever u like to call em has to have more points if they both have the same number points the one with a higher battle attack will go first if theyve both got the same a random will be picked out hope i helped

Going first its good, but going second has a great advantage of seeing your opponent's card before u play your's. It will sometimes give u a nice competitive advantage.
