Started this a long time ago, so let's do it again.
Ward hg: Seriously one of the most underrated; natural first choice for most people goes to C Wing, but this can replace Cyb Lhia in many cases (where there is already a lot of damage, and Ward hg would fit the theme).
Liam: People just remember Redra and Sasha, but Liam is probably just as good as those two, provided that Skeelz severely lack an SoA. People just build decks without him, but try to make a 3 2* deck with him if possible.
Ojibway: Somehow people just forgot about him, there was a time when he was banned every week... Still don't understand why. He is not as solid as lou, but has 2 increased damage used early, for a 10 damage that is almost irreducible.
Augustino - -3 power with a minimum of 1 is actually great and that -1 damage has won me the match a handful of times. Obviously Jessie is mine and I'm sure everyone else's forst choice but I always choice him I I need a second 2* All Star.
Treeman - 7 powered Soa that can make a life gap of 4 is always good in my books. Always my first choice for a 2* Roots and I find him bette than Flora. Might just be my play style though, I'm not a big fan of most defeat cards.
Lothar - can be ridiculously hard to beat unopposed with a nice 5 damage. Same goes for Dreen.
Iguana Samson - always used this card over Trish and Wyre for mono Junta on soa weeks and possibly my favourite stop card. A potential 10 damage with 8 power is nothing to frown at under the right conditions.
Harold - solid stats with a decent ability to boot. Doesn't need his ability to be solid but is fairly strong with it. I use him over Oxen sometimes with success.
Those are just a few off the top of my head.
All the following are excellent cards, especially againys high damaged opponents who you don't want to let through;
Elmer - Safety Bracket
Esmeralda - Excellent wall
Flint - R1 Win = ~6 life gap
Please don't list "underrated" 2*... 99% of 2* have no place in high level ELO.
Liam just as good as Sasha or Redra? ROFL
OK, which characters actually are underrated...
Then there are some characters that actually see moderate play but should be played even more often:
Loma Noju (but now that Striker 's back who cares)
5* pill manipulators~ most people don't use them because most people don't bother to learn to use them:
Finally there are some pretty good characters for beginners with a small budget (but are not good past 1200) :
No other characters I'd care to point out.
In all honesty any 4/5* with decent damage and some ability to actually inflict that damge (power/attk manip, decent (>7) power) is overlooked and thanks to the nuke/block nature of the current ELO most can be used to at least turn games into 50/50's rather easily and without much skill
Even a card never, ever considered like Nukerenbo or tameshi can be used to stupidly just nuke and win stuff
Yes, utility wise, trust me, liam is just as good as sasha and redra. Just think about the times SoA could have won you the game, and protected SoA is so useful against gheist and nightmare particularly.
And honestly I could "ROFL" at most of your list:
Fizzle: terrible damage and mediocre ability that is unneeded with veenyle.
Travis Ld: That minimum 4 is laughable
Otakool: Qubik is here
Owen: Glenn is not used much, I don't see why this guy should
Azgroth: Terrible damage
Vito: Angelo is here, unneeded
Buck: SoA/SoB turns this guy into a mediocre 7 power.
Taham: Just isn't scary, there are so many cards with better manipulation and similar damage.
And here are few more of mine:
Stompah: I really thought this would be one of the most banned cards, and I still believe so.
Bloodh: Probably one of the scariest gap makers. 7/9 that can only be reduced to 7/6. Save this for last round for goodies.
Aylen: Best 5* in skeelz in my opinion. It is not for everyone, but skeelz severely lack damage. Good replacement for Xingshu.
@ Oracle I don't think the point is to compare the cards with obvious replacements. I mean these cards are 'underrated and underused' right? Not the 'list the better replacements'. It's obvious a card like Qubik is the best at the Junkz 4* count, but that doesn't mean the others are utter shit, just overlooked
Having Veenyle doesn't make Fizzle useless, Veenyle is just a DR Fizzle is a mini fork and holds a different role and IMo she is underrated. A fork of any kind is painful and she is no exception, coupled with a strong damaging half she can cause problems
Otakool, again is similar to Liam in the face better exists but it's always nice to have more SOA around. Sure Qubik exists, but Otakool is definitely underused and there is never enough SOA!
Owen is a great beginners card, as is Glenn. 9 damage that can sort of escape DR isn't bad at all and he can certainly be used to just act as a nuke
Azgroth is actually criminally underrated, having the low damage is made up for from his clan and he's probably one of the only cards that can stand against ability SOA (Nightmare's biggest issue) and he has 8 power. As proven 8 power + SOB/SOA is always difficut
I think Orenichi is overlooked for Montana's 4* personally, she is by no means terrible and is a mini fork like Fizzle that can be annoying to face. 6 damage is nothing to sneeze at and with her bonus you will generally need a pill ahead to beat her
Agreed on Aylen, she is a much better card than people give her credit for. She can nuke and the rest of her clan walls. it's a match made in heaven really
Stompah isn't underrated, he's a staple in the Frozn half. If they got a dr/decent defeat 2* he'd likely be banned very quickly
As it is Ruru is more of a problem as she is so unpredictable and difficult to face head on
Stompah really doesn't count as underrated, he's obviously beast.
I think Aylen is fairly rated, or only slightly underrated. She has some obvious flaws that keep her from being a top choice.
Bloodh should see *some* play but doesn't for a couple of reasons. First, any 8 power character can beat him- 7 power SOB with no other combat ability is a below average fighter in ELO. Second, Piranas are stronger at win 3 than win 2, so his damage potential doesn't fit with the strategy of the clan. Whereas, Rekved seems to be the top choice 5* for Piranas these days because despite the pitiful 6 damage, he suits a win 3 strategy. For me personally Bloodh has always been in Dalhia Cr 's shadow since again, Dalhia suits a win 3 strategy.
