What can you do if players deliberately wait until 1 second left every round in a tournament? I was winning but played against ??????? who did this 3x in a row. Makes it impossible to do anything. Is this an offence? Played with 1 second left every time. Very clearly is deliberate.

Couldn't get in tourneys earlier in the day and so in the latest tourney, I ran into the same player who inspired this thread 5 times and must have wasted nearly a 1/3 of my tourney just with him. Seeing him in a tourney literally is a game of how many times can I avoid him and if you can't, then you get completely screwed. I really wish staff could do something about it as I don't see it as something happening super often, but rather from a few such as him who just do it to torment other players
It's unfortunately not an offence.
I can give a little advice to players that play for high scores: you have 2 forfeits every running 30 minutes without getting the 5-minute penalty.
Track for yourself players who waste your time, and if you encounter them, you have 2-3 ''free'' escapes. I usually myself use them for unwinnable match-ups (f.e GHEIST vs GT), but you can use them for time-wasters as well. Getting a 0 score and being able to continue faster is more valuable than a 3 - 22 score in 2, 4 or 5 minutes

I definitely employ this tactic often Kevin against players who aren't close to the top, but the player I was talking about is a good player himself so we were 1 and 2 during our matches, if I were to forfeit I'd basically be handing him the 1st place. It's just annoying as basically any tourney with him, I know I have no chance for a personal best. I won our tourney together since I beat him most of the time, but it just hinders your scores and amount of matches you can get in is all. I understaff staff can't reliably do anything about this since they're playing within the time limits, but as many others suggested, I agree turn timers could be lowered since the whole spirit of DT is fast and efficient play and is one of its most defining characteristics when compared to EFC or Survivor.
Having played elo for so many years where I was used to having whatever time I needed to think about my moves, I didn't realize how different the skillset is for the top players in tourney and if you hope to compete with them, you need to be able to make your average move in 5-10 seconds or hope they just get bogged down by other slow players. I think shorter turn timers for such a mode would be reasonable.
