I will never spend money on this game. I like it and enjoy it, but I am just not going to invest any kind of money into this game. Period. Excelling at this game is possible without money. If you are like-minded and want recognition for your earned (versus paid-for) excellence, then join forces with me. The only requirement to join is to *not* spend money on this game. Violators will be severely punished (i.e. you will receive a stern reprimand, get kicked out of the guild, and you will live forever in The Giddy Misers' Hall of Shame.
If I am not really the only one approaching the game this way, prove it by joining now. If you don't hurry, the guild will be closed due to me being the only member.

Your points are well take, honorable Tanto89 and Nintendan WMD. Consider the no-pay rule a self-imposed restriction based on a philosophy dictating that the more (needlessly) difficult the path, the greater the reward. Success as a Giddy Miser is a greater success than as not a Giddy Miser. The hill is higher, the slope is steeper.
Thank you both again for the kind words. I feel the reward is in the journey, not the destination. In fact, to reach the destination is to cease to have a reason to exist. The journey, the struggle, is sacred. The greater the struggle, the purer the journey. The purer the journey, the greater the enlightenment. The greater the enlightenment, the greater the personal victory. The greater the personal victory, closer you come to perfection. The idea is to ever strive for perfection through struggle, to always get a little closer; and as you get closer, the more clearly you recognize how much farther you really have to go.
Understood. This is a path requiring much patience, discipline, and restraint. Just as turning a sapling into a beautiful bonsai, developing your deck into a form that satisfies your ideals cannot be rushed, forced, or imposed. You must draw on inner strength and confidence, and you cannot be tempted by other easier paths.
I also think this guild idea is pretty interesting, and I'd fit the bill perfectly for this guild.
However, I'm trying to start my own with a friend(not working much) and my friend bought credits so he couldn't join this anyway.
Still, I'll join in on the people bumping this up hoping you do get people, as I'm pretty much like you, aiming for a top seat in competitive ELO without spending a single penny on this game
