I think most of these bans are for T2 where there is a lot of damage and lots of stars.
Players make up for the lost points from stars by playing faster games but they can't KO fast if there are DRs so basically, they're making DTs a bluff-KO game now, which I think is bad. If the logic to these penalties are for T2 then please make separate penalties for T1. Some of these penalties are just a pain to T1 players.
On the other hand, instead of discouraging DRs by giving penalties, they could give penalties to OP high damage cards. I trust the staff but I just don't see much logic. I haven't played UR for a long time so I might be wrong.
My opinion on the penalty changes:
If you penalise Redra you have to penalise the following characters, because they are the same type of Damage reducers, even if they aren't played that often:
Brutus, Venyyle Cr, Pegh, Ashley / Ashley Rb, Artus, Ella
I still don´t understand why Ulrich is now free. But if you consider penalise him again you have to consider a few other DRs like:
PR Cushing, Slyde Cr, Nathan, Dixie,
In T1 you often see Low Star Decks wining with over 500 points. Nearly all of them consist of Sentinel and Junkz with Lehane and Gil as their strongest cards.
In my opinion it is stupid to see people wining a DT with only 2/3 of their matches won and even in 25 star Decks both characters are to strong.
Reducing the penalty of strong cards that are weak to SoA abilities isn't a good idea beacause often you have no chance to play your SoA against this card and than they destroy you.
All these Cards need a Penalty of minimum -3: Copper Cr, Herman, Lamar Cr, Marco Cr, Alec Cr, Coby, Phoebe, Beeboy
And both Draheera and Caelus Cr aren't even weak to SoA.
John Doom the new Leader is very similiar to Ambre so he need a penalty of minimum -3.
Abilities with power and damage reducing at the same time are very strong so Moai & Mokra deserve a penalty in my opinion.
