Imperator - La Asamblea
Hello. I used to play the crap out of type 1 tourneys some years ago. Back then decks were built with the least amount of starts possible while mantaining some utility (around 18* - 22* for the most part), and the most played clans were Uppers, Montana, Rescue and Piranas.
I hadn't played a single tourney in years, so today I decided to try some luck with a 21* mono Roots deck. It's not that it wasn't difficult to win, although it was fun I can tell the meta has changed a lot. What happened? Why are heavier decks more in favour? Most players carry 4* and 5*, something very rare back then.
Aren't tourneys still based on points, those points being easier to win carrying low star decks? I'm kinda lost.

Quite a simple answer. The powercreep of the game got to the point that winning with a lower level team gets harder and harder. Currently there are a ton of cards that can solo win fights (This is especially true in Type 1, where lower level cards usually aren't the big damage dealers of the team). I remember a couple of years back when the most dominant deck was a Sentinel deck, which almost fully revolved around Copper Cr dealing massive amounts of damage, while having either defensive cards or cards that require the enemy to pill quite a lot. This meant that if the enemy had Copper Cr they usually won the fight, while still being a strong/reliable team without him.

Raptors made the attack manip clans far riskier. La Junta ruled the Tourneys for a while, and even though that's not the case any more, the meta seems to have shifted to favor quick 2 hit KOs.

I'd recommend keeping an eye on paradox or possible half deck with them for their bonus as well on top of being a new clan UR staff hesitate banning cards in the newest clans until they can fill up the clan more. Also look up the potent semi evos you could be using there were waves of retroactively turn old cards into semi evos to open of possibilities and giving unused cards new life as semi evos
