It's so funny that I got BLed AND insulted by a moderator (whose name I won't mention) back in the day for making some innocuous Jesus parody cards, but now I find that it's okay for UR to put the term, "goddamned" (said by Enzo in the latest chapter) in the comic. Hypocrisy much?
The last time I checked, which hasn't been long enough, the term "goddamn" was not only offensive to many Christians, but also a sin, according to the Bible (taking the Lord's name in vain).
Why is it that I get harassed and BLed for "Kung Fu Jesus", but it's okay if I curse God's name in the public forum?
Just wanted to point this out, though I doubt I'll ever get any apology for all the fierce manure I caught. LOL
Would anyone at least care to clear up my confusion?
There is one big difference between media thoughts about entertainment, and when people write insulting things on the message board. UR comics are created for people entertainment. I don't think that anyone would read them, if the comics would be without any bad stuff (stealing, fights etc.. ). I don't see anything happening about one or few cursing words in movies, books or something.. The "Goddamned" said in the comics, is just an expression of anger. Thats uncompareable with how you made fun out of one of the biggest religion's prophet.
That's funny, Thralas. What I wrote WAS for entertainment and was NOT meant as an insult.
Also, it's not "just an expression of anger" to some ppl. My parents would have straight up hit me if I ever used "GD" or even just said "Jesus!" in surprise. Some Christians will actually walk out of movies that have dialogue where cursing God's name takes place.
Sorry, pal, but your argument doesn't quite do it for me. Also, in media entertainment, Jesus is a major character in many comedic acts: Saturday Night Live, Kevin Smith comedies (and he's catholic, too), and South Park, to name a few.
The fact of the matter is: some Christians would be offended by "GD" being used in the comic. Word.
Also, for the record, I've read the Bible cover to cover MULTIPLE TIMES. It doesn't say ANYWHERE in there that you can't poke fun at God or Jesus. Only that you cannot say that another god is better and that you cannot take the Lord's name in vain (curse God's name). If more Christians would read the Bible, they wouldn't get offended at the wrong sh*t. LMAO
Do your homework, son.
