I used to switch decks I play quite often Each deck had sth bad within. I was calculating decks consisiting of different clans. My aim was to create an ultimate deck(t2 tournament of course)
I've noticed that most of decks has some serious problems/drawbacks:
1. Lack of SoA/SoB - these decks are horrible just because. You can't win without SoA in you deck.
2. There aren't many Roots/Gheist decks because of Skeelz, so what? Skeelz ain't that strong and are easy to beat.
3. Lack of dmg/power it's problem of 90% of decks e.g. Montana's has poor power which makes difficulties in high-pilled battles.
4. And the main problem which would be my main topic in this subject is a thing called "Bad Draw"
What's the bad draw? It's a situation when you get the worst cards in your deck to play. I'll give some essential examples:
This decks seems to be very good, but let's face the truth it isn't due to bad draw(btw it's very expensive)
This draw lacks of damage and more or less power, also SoA kills it.
We've got same situation here. Deck seems to be good, but bad draw makes it horrible. Also SoA/Sob kills it.
I remind that we're talking about t2 tournament deck so IT HAS TO BE 26*-28* so forget about decks made of several 5* cards
So, let’s sum up what we know. Our deck should be high power+damage with small amount of stars(26-2. We need SoA/SoB. Also we need offensive bonus(All Stars, Bangers, Montana, Junkz, Resque, Uppers, Sentinel, Ulu Watu). But it’s a problem here again, two problems at all.
1. All Stars, Bangers, Ulu Watu are bad in non-pill fights so for me they aren’t worth including in t2 tournament deck.
2. Resque in contrast to All Stars, Bangers or Ulu Watu are the best clan in non-pill fights, however SoA kills them(more than SoB) e.g. Marco, virtual 9/7 against SoA poor 5/7 or Alec Cr virtual 7/8 against SoA 7/4, also against Yookie he becomes only 7/2 which is horrible for 4*.
At this point we can forget about Ulu Watu, All Stars, Bangers and Resque.
I think that creating mono-deck is a bad idea, connecting best cards of two clans is far better. but hey?!?! Someone has already done this: Montana/Uppers, Montana/Junkz etc.. These pairs are one of the best ideas or UR players, but there’s a hidden gap again. When these decks are faced against SoB, they become much worse than it seems. I mean tiny power. Power again.
Here comes my idea. I was looking for two clans which have many cards with 8 power(still need attack manipulation for low-pill fights). Here it comes Uppers clan. By the way, Jackie is an absolute god of UR. So what we’ve got now:
Wow, at this points it’s great. It has SoA, high power, and attack manipulation.
Now it’s time for second part of deck. Let’s think… In comments of almost all decks it’s written “SoA kills it” so let’s make deck with some SoA cards to kill of those. Gheist or Roots? It’s important question. Most of you would say: “Omfg what a stupid question, of course Gheist! Roots are horrible!” For me it’s the worst idea… ever. Gheist has(again same thing) poor power, so, after what I said, we can forget about them. So Roots. But hey? What’s that their power is more than huge…
I hope that my deck would somehow show you how to build deck properly. Before I finally let you see it I have to tell about another advantage of it.
Many people are crazy about Pussycats. “Strike your opponent hard with furious Ditha or furious Charlie and watch how your drs not let your opponent land enough damage to win.” But hey my deck is built of some SoA and enormous power, so it’s not a problem.
Roots/Uppers | 28* | Cost – about 45k |
So what we’ve got?
- impressive 61 power
- 33 damage(36 with Oxen’s ability)
- DR – Yookie
- attack manipulation(also 2/4 Roots cards have it)
- now let’s face the bad draw:
It isn’t bad, so worse one:
Is it really bad? I don’t think so. Good player will make usage of Oxen, forcing opponent to throw out SoA and then landing 6 dmg.
Now most of you would say that Stopxx kills it. Really? How many stops do you have in your deck? None or maybe one? It’s not a problem for a good player(I think I am one. If you think I’m not look at my stats).
Actually I’ve found only one con of this deck – no SoB, however it’s not a serious problem at all(but I’m still waiting for a great SoB for Uppers not just crap Samantha).
Show your ideas here, remember about requirements that are mentioned above.
is an awesome hand mabey to slow for dt's but really strong enough to beat even 14 to 16 star hands, the pill manip + damage reducer can really give you control of the game it will give you not the fastest win !
the amount of hand you can get are 8*7*6*5=1680 hands, so the odds to get your worst hand are 1 out of 1680 =P how big is te chance to get that even once at a dt ? depends on the amount of games, but not that much really
and to your deck, its nowhere near the ultimate dt deck, you need 2hko's, mono uppers is far supperior if you ask me with all there 6 damage cards. its about speed, nothing else winning as maney rounds as possible in the hour. next to that you use zatman, jackie and ratanah, there great cards yeah but you get minuspoints almost every game, is that good for dt ? no ofcourse it isn't ! its a nice deck, and it will be easy to get that top 150, top 100 and with just a bit of luck top 50 to, sure but as you say you where trying to create the ULTIMATE dt deck,... you failed, i dont think this is going to put you top 10 in the dt's at the high traffic hours when lots of people are playing ! + you made a 28* and the once you used as ''bad'' example where 26* hands ! yeah ofcourse they have worse possible hands as yours has =P.
overall: i sound all negative above but it is a pretty good deck actually! you can get high in ranks using it its a nice deck, but its nothing thats gonna cast a revolution in UR.
A couple of notes, Steelie your math is off by a bit, the actually chance of getting worst had is 4/8 x 3/7 x 2/6 x 1/5 which comes out to 1 in 70 matches. So assume you get worst had once every 3 DT's still not that big of a deal.
However I completely agree with you when you say that 3 staff banned cards is far too many. I like Jackie in a deck because she is a great card for a quick 2HKO and pill for pill beats most cards out of there. But Zatman/Ratanah are great cards, but not so great in DT's. Speed or points are king, and neither of them give you that, since neither are 6 damage you don't get speedy 2HKO's and since both are -points you don't get lots of points.
Overall I would go with the low star 10 card decks or a nice speedy 2HKO deck, remember winning percentage isn't important in DT's it is all about points per minute a quick loss and 2 quick wins can be a heck of a lot better than a long drawn out win. Finally a 29-30 star deck is very useable assuming it is designed with quick matches. I like the deck, and I think you will get a lot of wins, I just don't think it will make points quite fast enough for a top DT deck.
Steelie_MOB your answer was a bit agressive
2HKO guide is an opposite of an old t2 strategy
with 2hko you waste all pillz making fast ko but you get 15-20 points per battle.
with this deck and I suppose my first example(http://www.urban-rivals.com/presets/?id_preset=1092604&list
) you get more points I got about 25-35 points, but due to players who play very slowlyI simply can't score high.
I agree that this deck sometimes has a problem with damage, but unexpected fury-attack let's me win
atm I think about changing room to elo tournaments. t2 depends on luck, I mean players you meet - their speed.
However I don't have time to spend week on playing UR(I'm still going to school) so spending 24/7 in front of screen is a bad idea. But still elo tournaments might be better idea
