So for 5 straight DTs, I've done fairly well (300+ points), but I can't seem to be able to get any more. I finish about 20 matches each time at an average of 15 points, but I can't seem to be able to increase this number, no matter what I do. I can't really play any faster than I do now (I spend 20-30 seconds total per game making my moves), and to increase the average it seems like I would have to spend to much time thinking about my moves.
Any tips from people who've been able to score 400+ points?
Thanks for the help!
P.S. 400 seems barely possible, I have no idea how some people can get 500+...
I'm looking at the chart and i see that you get more points for being at a lower level. So do you quit games outside of tournaments to not level up?
also if you level up a lvl 3 character every game you get 30 pts. so try that for 20 games you get 600+ points?
Couple things on how the points work.
In a match, it's the level of your cards that matter, not the level of the player. So if my 3* beats my opponents 5*, I get 5 points. If my opponent 5* wins, he only gets 2 points.
And leveling doesn't count for points during DTs. (it used to IIRC, and it was just horribly stupid)
Well I got top 10 twice yesterday so let's see if I can help a bit..
I use Hugo + Uppers..with Jackie not Zatman. 20 games is too low really for 400 points, you need 24 - 25 to be up there. Basically win quickly and lose quickly. Against quick players run up the points, against slower ones 2hKO them (once I furied twice in a match just to KO the opponent quickly)..
Make sure you know your deck, how many pillz you should need to beat a certain card (like a 9 pilled Rubie vs. 6 pilled Oxen) and sometimes don't think..I've had moves where I've gone "I wish I hadn't done that" but I was playing as fast as possible, so it's not too bad.
Try and keep one DR in the deck (I know many players say not to, but I think it really helps in winning the match.) If you're playing mono-Uppers, then try and get Burt in there, Montana Spiaghi, Junta Jane Ramba and Rescue Steve (not Slyde, 2* DR is better even if she has better reduction).
The thing is, you don't have to use the DR, you can 2hKO them with it still in your hand. And it helps when you're a couple of pillz down and you just need to block out a card (Nellie, Mona etc.)
Hope I helped
