I've tidied up my proposed solution and changed the thread title to avoid confusion. I've also changed the name of the proposed idea to avoid bickering about tiers.
Solution - Limit System.
- Mark all considered overpowered cards (Toro, Rolph, Smokey Cr, Charlie, etc...) as 'Limited'.
- Add new stipulation to Elo deck build rules:
Your Deck can only contain X Limited cards.
- Limited cards would only be the cards that are considered too powerful. So some clans would not have any Limited cards at all.
- The limited list could rotate, or it could even be placed under player vote.
- This would stop decks being made up with the obvious cards, but would allow us to still play these cards in a limited capacity.

Thank you to everyone who gave feedback.

wasteroftime, you can go back and check the original responses to see if I was being biased in interpreting them. I hope I have not done so.
While a bit less than half of the total say yes, even less say no. Those who did want to have even more bans rather than to remove them. This would be to knock down the dominant clans and change up the decks that are used every week.
The limiting idea serves the same effect. It stops a clan from being too powerful by only allowing two of the staples to be used in a deck. It creates diversity by changing the limited list (more limits = less clan power = people use something else). The difference is OPTIONS. Yes, some clans would still be used more than others every week, but this is the same as with bans. However, people would have the option to build a viable deck using any clan. This is not the case right now, as the bans have completely shut down some clans.
“As you've already professed, you're more for some kind of hevy event style rotation. That's fair, but there's a good deal of players (at least half from the feedback given) who consider this kind of move unwelcome. Not because they can't or won't adapt to change, but because events_already_exist and Elo was something else, something more stable, something simpler.”
“i would say the majority of the people who are not pleased with the bannings are people with smaller collections.”
“we can categorize the negative posts about the changes into 2 groups. The first group would be 1)Changes bad cause we lost stability 2)Other reasons. You claim that over half will be in category one.... I claim that there is no way that over half will be in category 1. Feel free to count, im confident in what im saying.”
Only two people in this thread have actually said they were against banning.
Frank_LoA – “All I know is, the current system is horrible, and has done nothing but limit diversity even further.”
BD_subclavian – “I think banning more cards doesn't solve the problem. There will *always* be a few dominant clans, and there will *always* be comparatively overpowered cards.”
Reading some comments in other threads, it seems people dislike the bans because they do limit diversity. They cause people to use the same dominant clans that beat the rest, which was Rescue, Roots, and Montana last week. People are sick of seeing these same clans in every game.
Sorry for posting so much.
Thanks for the effort krahl... yeah theres no need to count the ppl that are ok with changes.
only wanted to count the people who said they dont like it and they dont like it cause it has created instability.
shadow read my post again... did i contest your proposition of some sort of limit??? in fact from the looks of it im quite supportive of changes to the system.... yours included. would i put it in now --- um no way. i would let this current system ride out and allow it to settle and stagnate before making another change. the next change may in fact be a limit system -- and guess what... i would welcome it since it would be fresh and new and make ELO interesting again after this current system becomes boring. and guess what.... several players will be unhappy with the next system. and id bet my entire collection that there will be threads about the newest system and how bad it is and how it can be fixed.
the ball is round, play ball.
At first it sounds good and choosing between striker and marina will inspire variaty and so on for other clans but how would u decide a cards tier or how could u limit the number of cards allowed in each tier or account for the fact the 2 and 3 stars would be in tier 1 2 and u couldnt use more than 1 or 2 cards u currently use because most decks r comprised of tier 1 cards right? I think its a good base idea but it has many holes that need 2 be filled in this will inspire variaty but it could accedentally completely ruin the mode i would like more details
