1) How do you define a "good" deck? Certain decks suit certain playstyles, so what you define as a "bad" deck could be really good for someone else.
2) A meta deck is only good against certain decks, so you can't make a blanket statement like that. If you use Oshitsune this week and run up against Desmond or Heitachi, you will be at a disadvantage despite using a "meta" deck.
3) I win against superior decks or hands all the time, and I also lose against some inferior decks and hands. This clearly indicates that skill is more important than having a "top" or "meta" deck.
Back to the original point of this discussion though, I am simply encouraging people to try something new because despite what you think, people can have success with any deck in ELO.
Cut the bs bokneehog.
IF there wasn't a good deck, then people wouldn't frequently be topping with That One Roots Half , PCats & Freaks etcetera. Look at the tops listings.
No, a Meta deck isn't only good in certain situations. Please think before you respond.
A Meta Deck is good because it FOUGHT and won its way to the top; not coincidence.
Let's be honest, those are rogue cards. Heitachi over Futoshi Ld, you kidding me? And Montana got hardcore neutered. Good luck seeing Desmond , let alone Montana.
OH NOES, a counter?! Most people have more than one card that can strike / bring the pain. Saying that because Oshitsune gets 'removed from the picture' is discounting the rest of your hand with say Mefisto, Pan, some random 2 star . Most decks prepare for their being a counter to their main hitter, or have more than one threat. Please make a serious post.
Most of the times winning with skill over a superior deck is just that; skill. HOWEVER, it does NOT change that top decks/meta decks that aren't your supposedly original formulas are winning, and doing it frequently. So it depends on a balance of deck and player skill. Accept that Meta Decks outperform the competition in mostly all cases, it makes it easier.
We can agree to disagree on everything you just posted. Hell, maybe you're even right and I'm wrong. None of that changes the fact that it's boring and repititive to see Freaks/Pussycats or any other unoriginal deck over and over again. What I complained about last week when I found it to be a nuisance, is the exact same thing that people complain about in Tourneys with Sentinel.
As I said before: at the end of the day, people will do whatever the hell they want. I'm simply saying that it is possible to win while being creative with your deck (BECAUSE I HAVE DONE IT). If you disagree, take my advice with a grain of salt. If you're like me and tire of seeing the same decks over and over, try something new, you may be surprised.
Bokneehog , I have been playing original Decks for a LONG time now.
I've made it to 1300 ELO the few times I've tried with backwater decks that really are strange combinations.
I'm using Ulu Watu with Vortex right now. Jordygn , Daag , Cyb Lhia , Vektor , Noland , Zack , Eugene , Dave
