Recently, my internet was really slow so I can't play UR properly. So, I decided to conduct a social experiment.
The aim is to have a conclusion on how many market investors would react if a newbie PM'ed them asking for cards. I recently PM'ed people who sell bulk cards in the market, and trying to "beg" a copy from them. I don't really need the card, I just wanted their feedback. Most of the feedbacks were negative, flaming and cursing me like hell. Some even blacklisted me, which is a funny thing lol. Luckily, some were really generous enough that put cards in my private sales that worth even up to 200k/card (you know yourselves, thank you), but I cancelled those private sales to me because I was just aiming for their feedback.
I will still keep PM-ing people to "give me some cards", and after gathering the results that I wanted, I will immediately cease the study.
After that, I will be conducting a lottery for the cards that "I begged" (I'm making sure that I have copies of the cards that I beg), and I will be mentioning the result of the experiment.
I will post the event link after my experiment is over

@UM_AaaBattery I think that's pretty normal nowadays, even back at 2012. But I can assure you that I'm not one of them, cause I'm a much cheaper person, and I want cards for free without giving anything for consideration lol. Just kidding
I don't like beggars for reasons already stated here, and yeah it is true that it depends on the type of personality.
Now i'm not going to sermonize on my views on this certain topic, but i have a general mistrust towards charities.I personally don't donate to strangers for a few reasons.
First of all, lets say i do give somebody a kolos or whatever for half it's market value. Then after a few weeks,i get a message for half off on a dregn, and then it goes on and on.It's fine to help a stranger out(good karma and whatnot),but at some point,if you just keep doing it,you become's that person's doormat and then word could get around and then you'd have more of these people, and then it just becomes a vicious cycle,so its best not to let it happen to begin with.
Secondly,i dont know if this card im giving to you cheap is actually needed or if you're going to use it as a mark-up to sell on the market five minutes later and then who looks like the gullible idiot who practically just handed somebody a free card?I know this game is mostly a place of trustworthy and decent people, but ive done this on other games and i've been made to look like an idiot,so its not a policy.
Lastly, even if i am being nice and donating, how am i helping this player's growth and evolution in this game?By doing this im essentially saying its ok to not have any manners and to just pester people if you cant/wont do something yourself.
Want to know if buying those 600 palmer off the market was a good idea, but unsure?I'll answer.
Want a good choice for a speculation of a card that you think might be leaving packs?I'll answer.
Think a card thats in new blood might take a rise or whether its best to sit on it for a while?I'll answer.
Dont know why a card has left clint city but think that investing in the clan at a cheap price is good?I'll answer.
And you can see where im going with this.I do things like this or alerting the market to an elevated price of a card.My inbox is open to those that ask and so i encourage people to ask,and there's no ulterior motive. There's no secret staches of cards that im hiding,im not in cahoots with the french when i do these things.
I help people out that way because i enjoy that aspect of the game AND because i feel like that person will take what ive given it and use it,or at least consider it,so that in turn helps them make smarter decisions with future investments.
So when a stranger asks me for a card and hes far enough into the game that he doesnt need my help or that theres a player who hasnt even been in the game for 2 weeks,i know they're either trying to make a quick dollar off of me or they think im some kind of idiot. You know how to complain in forum about being poor or cant study the market properly when you should be increasing your collection but you know how to ask the guy with a card being sold for 6 digits to knock one off?
Give me a break.
There's a difference between giving someone a free Kolos and a free Yaman. I fully support refusing someone who asks you to spot them a Raven or whatever, but I don't see the harm in instead offering them part of a Sandy lot you'll never do anything with if they need some clintz.
