Saying Quasichoco is better than the other freaks is kinda ignoring the fact that first you need to actually inflict poison. So while I see your point my own brand of logic tells me that Olga Noel/Varoslav/Akendram are better. Furthermore he's only really 'necessary' if you want to use a mono freaks deck-- and that's not really advisable.
Piotr, for me, is one of those cards that makes you go "oh man, that's awesome," but really isn't awesome at all. Kinda like Hystrix-- you go over the scenarios in your mind and you can totally see yourself winning gap battle after gap battle but, in the end, 7 base power just doesn't go far these days.
@Arlo : Thank you for getting home what I was about to convey, I didn't think it would be that hard for someone to realize why Akendram is good / worth running. Quasichoco is runnable, yeah, but personally his competition eats him.
Piotr is . . . idk, he's just an egg short. If he was 8 Power then hell yeah, but at 7 he's doomed to fade to obscurity.
Varoslav is stuck in limbo for me, unlike Olga Noel . Her 3 damage scares me off along with the 6 Base Power, things that frequently can make or break a card. I mean, for her ability she should have slightly higher damage imo to make up for an SOA weakness, but that in turn makes her cry against SOB . Sure, other Freaks cry about SOB , but some don't as much. Varoslav for example, 4 damage and he'd be great. And the low pill manip is nice too, so I really like him. BUT , that's where reality kicks in and you have to realize the likelihood of you landing a blow with him against Power / Attack Manips. He's a risky card.
Baldovino , I don't like him, but at the same time, 8 Power Pill Manip is nice. However, I just don't think people should take Baldovino over Barbacoatl or Hindelga . What does everyone else think of the 5* Barbacoatl vs the other 5* 's ?
Everybody struggles at ELO-- don't feel bad. Even the people who get 1400-- if you ask them, they'll probably say they struggle (because they want 1500, lol.)
What cards are you using for your Junkz and La Junta deck? I play Junkz a lot and find they always make a good half deck... don't think I ever used them with La Junta but I'm sure it could be okay. Qubik really isn't necessary unless you're playing mono. Tremohr, D4 Funk, Flanagan, Romana, Gibson, Eebiza, Dawn, Haze... pick any 4 of those, depending on how many stars you need, and you're off to a pretty good start.
If I were you, since some of the better high star La Junta cards are banned this week, I might try to run a pills theme. Tremohr, Eebiza, Dawn, _______ / Arnie, Spade, Scooty, ______ and I think that adds up to 19 so I'd recommend Brianna and Flanagan. That's a pretty good deck right there
