Hello Clint City,
As promised, here are the updates for Survivor mode in Beta this summer.
These updates concern the server and functionality.
So, without any further delay, here is the list of changes:
- Increase of the current 45-minute time limit between two matches during a Survivor series to 12 hours
- Removal of the T1 room
- Removal of the daily and monthly ranking. Instead, we’ll just keep the weekly ranking
- New format, 12 cards, 60 stars max
- Reduced round time to make the mode more exciting: 80/70/60/50
- Increase in all the prizes awarded at the end of the week
- Integration of Deathmatch bonuses, that will represent a Clintz bonus at the end of the match:
1/Revenge: To get your revenge on another player: beat them after they’ve beaten you (not necessarily in a row) => 100 Clintz
2/Persecution: Beat the same player several times (not necessarily in a row) => 150 Clintz
3/Higher score: Beat a player whose Survivor score is higher than yours => 200 Clintz
4/Buzz kill: Beat a player who's in a series of 5 consecutive wins or more => 250 Clintz
The Hall of Fame will be kept because the mode is a Beta version.
If the mode is not satisfactory, we’ll reinstate the Survivor mode as it was before, with its Hall of Fame and 2 rooms.
However, if the figures reveal increased participation rates (around 600 players per day, we’d like to double this amount), then this mode will become its final version as of the second update (that only concerns its visuals) and the Hall of Fame will be reset to zero as it will no longer correspond to anything.
The second update (visuals) will take place at the same time as the new mobile version, that is, on September 24th on iOS and Web and October 15th on Android. The name of Survivor mode will also be changed then…
So, see you on Wednesday June 6th to test out this new Survivor mode!
Yea, removing the T1 surprises me the most. To me and to many players T1 Survi was a perfect mode in which you could have a break from all the meta bs in EFC and Tourney. Just go, make the most overpowered 25* deck and go to town. It always was a fun format, a different one from the T2. And I just don't get mending the whole Survior into one format. Why not two, the second one with 12 cards and 40* max for example?
To me and to most people, trying to max out the power of a low star deck is a lot of fun, and this is just taking that away from as, speaking of Survi of course.
Most of the other changes look decent though. I am looking to this update, because we all knew it was about time for a Survi revamp. Raising the time limit is great, having a one long run for the entire day sounds fun. The bonus prizes look interesting, although a bit small.
Well, it seems like it's our last week playing the old Survi, let's have some fun while it lasts.
So, we are missing the Survivor type ELO room, yo put a room with 12 cards (What the hell?) 60* max...
No restrictions = the same damn shit happening (Ymirah Cr+Tormentah+Lowki/T-We-1+Tiwi Ld + Roots DRs ruling, change Roots for Sakrohm for the second most played, Change Ymirah Cr for Roderick/Behemoth/Zaveli/the monster the player has instead of Ymirah Cr to see the rest).
At least I will be able to complete almost all missions in the room due to the no restriction, but it will become harder in some of them because there will be extra cards on the deck.
There is nothing now but wait for it and play it.

Here are my general comments:
Personally if you ask me, T1 was barely played. I will pity some of our T1 Survivor Experts as there are some who excel in strategy from a T1 setting. T1 is also a great place to use SemiEvos, but I think they are mainly designed for ELO Fighting Championships.
However, I think the time reduction is reasonable. Suspense and that 80/70/60/50 seconds is enough to make a decent move in Survivor and speed up the process.
I have nothing for or against the 12 Hour restriction.
I will miss the daily rewards as it is a source of Tokenz. My main incentive for EFC and DT are Tokenz. However if Survivor is made easier or interesting, then I think it is worth a shot. I think there should be a Survivor Mystery Box similar to EFC. A box with prizes for playing at least 10 Survivor Daily matches. Just an idea though.
It is something new and worth a shot so to say. 12 Cards does put a lot of pressure, but worth it if you ask me. 12*5 = 60.
Otherwise, I look forward to what decks are brought to the table.
Ok, some comments on the changes:
-Remove Type 1: I think this is the worst among the changes. There are a lot of players who don't want to play T2, because they don't have good cards or because there are more rounds. Also, it is easier sometimes to do specific missions.
-Reduced Round Time: Survivor is different from dt in the aspect that you get to think. DT you just try to play as many matches as possible. With this change, and the lags of the game sometimes, big streaks will be lost just because the player will have to play fast or by timeout.
-Deathmatch bonuses: Although interesting, I don't see how useful this is in the survivor. In DM, there were 6-10 players in a room, and once they had finished one match, they were pressing quick battle fast and the possibility finding the same player was high. However, the high score and buzz kill seem interesting.
Please, do not remove Survivor T1.
